We need to take a stand against KBB (pls read)

As some of you may realize that our cars are going for way less then they should... Wel there is one simple reason for that KBB at 22,000 miles in perfect condition our cars are listed as 13,600 for private party!

Now this is not there fault completely .. because most likely when they get the datasheets.. its only classifies that it has a cd player (a single one at that) Not a kenwood z828 mp3 deck. Or alloy rims.. not Racing harts, and so forth.

So what do we need to do you ask? well simple i dont think they can easily raise the price as there engine is set to calculate in a specific matter. So i think someone should write a letter explaining them how the car is limitied and all it includes.. and PERSUIDe them to completely not price it at all on the manner it is limited edition so you can put a tag on it....

I dont know i think it is wrong KBB is giving us such a low price i think action should be taken by someone writing a very professional letter and posting it up here.. then all of the mp3 owners or any one else on this board that wants to help out , by emailing it to them.. once every week till our demand is met...

I dont know about you but when i go to sell my mp3 i dodnt want it to be selling as much as a stock Prot ES or Civic....

Just my 2 cents

i agree... but your not gonna convince kbb to not price it... i mean.. c'mon.. just cuz a couple ppl write letters... i doubt it..

if it happens then thats great... but i wouldn't waste your time.. doubt they'll pay attention

Great attitude.. im sure we can get a mutual agreement some how its obvious there info is wrong however if they get alot of emails saying it is.. then they will realize... it is ovious right there in the quote you can tell them what you think.. so its obvious they do slightly care or they wouldnt have programmed it in right?

your right one email isnt going to change but 400 emails will...

but as far as you sitting back saying things need to be changed but blahblah blah then it wont..

Get the email address and lets get it done.

A dealer would only give me trade in value as a protee ex wihtout cruise sun roof and other options, they in no way account for any of the goodies this car has.

They were only going to give me $9K

Guys, you have to keep in mind that with all of the 0% financing deals that are being offered, used car prices are plumenting. Seriously, why would you buy a used car at a high interest rate, when you can get a new one with NO interest rate.

I know that the mp3 is a special case to people like us, but we really are a limited number of people when it comes to the overall population. The recent surge in new sport compact cars (including the MSP) doesn't help the value of the MP3, either.

I know it sucks.... But look at the bright side. If you want to buy a spare MP3 for racing, or whatever, they are more affordable now. :)

With that said, go with the letter writing campaign. If it works, that's great! If not, it will be a great learning experience to organize something like that!

First off the "Blue Book" or whatever pricing guide you use is just that, a guide.

Second of all, it is difficult to price a car like this in the used market because:

1. It is limited.
2. Not very many people (inlcuding pricing guides) know exactly what the car is.
3. Only a few people really want an MP3 still.

So, write to KBB if you want, I doubt it'll make a huge difference. While we are it, why not write to everyone else that lumps the MP3 in with the ES, such as, Tire Rack, where it says the car has 16" wheels stock, instead of the 17"...

i think KBB bases its price on what the cars are currently selling for......and I dont think there is any chance of getting it changed through letters. If that was the case then 15 million focus owners, for example, in an attempt to raise the value of their car, could conceivably write letters too

However the focus is not limited.. yes it is hard to price our cars thats why im hoping they just remove the price.. they have some limited cars on there where price is not avbl.. about how they make the price its not true! our cars where going for 18k till the day that report came out.... think what you want

kelley@kbb.com

is the email however we need to have a good template email to send in someone care to write one up?

Interesting. I tried to price the MP3 in my area, got a $13,500 value like you. I then tried a Protege ES with the exact same options and it was $10,500. So obviously it IS taking into account that our car is different.

Chris

and you also have to ask yourself...

why would I want to sell my mp3??!! if its such a great amazing wonderfully limited edition car and its so l33t that it shouldn't even be priced in the blue book... then wtf r u gonna sell it???

I Never said i was selling.. it its just life throws curves.. you never know and if i get handed a curve id rather sell the car and walk with 2k instead of being 2k in debt....

I'd just like to get fair market value, which an unloaded Es resale value is hardly up to par with the MP3.
