ways to quiet my custom exhaust

i already have bulls*** 3 inch exhaust that starts about 1/2 ft before the rear diff. its LOUD, not as loud as it could be, but bottom line is im running the stock downpipe with a test pipe, no resonators or mufflers.

my dilemma im moving and ill be putting the car in the garage overnight. i'm worried about how loud the car will be starting up it the morning being echo'd by the garage and pissing off my new neighbors. i need to either put on some GOOD, but noise reducing mufflers/resonators, or i need to rig something up.

i do remember someone from the board doing 1 side of the exhaust straight pipe and the other stock. if your on here let me know how loud it is.

guys any ideas would be nice. i def want to keep the sound when i nail the gas. i know i will miss the fun popping, if i go too stockish. however as the car is now it is quite loud while cruising.

help. thanks guys.

I leave for work @ 2 am and my car is a 3' turbo back with a tubular manifold. Needless to say my exhaust is ******* loud. Ive asked my neihbors and they cant even hear me leaving in the morning. And two of them I drive within 50 feet of there bedroom windows when I leave. I think if you take it easy on the throtle a bit you shouldnt need to change a thing.

Yeah it's only loud when you rev it. I have a 3 inch turboback and it's only loud when I put the pedal to the floor.

i agree with the loud when revving it. i've never parked my car in a garage before. and now that i will have one im certainly not parking it in the street. im really only worried about the echo/resonance of it starting, and revving to 2g, while in the garage since i assume it will be even louder. i love the way my car sounds now. im planning on waiting on a complaint prior to changing anything. but still looking for options if need be.

thanks for the responses.

they do a bit of both. it made a world of difference on my brother's mazdaspeed miata (3 inch turbo back with vibrant TPV muffler and no cats/resonators).

Any suggestion where in the exhaust system should the resonator be placed? Would it make any difference at all?

TIA

my corksport has a resonator placed in the midpipe, to be specific the resonator is about right under my shift linkage(where the shifter connects to the rest of the shift linkage underneath my car) granted i drive a p5 put still, thats where my resonator is

I purchased the Vibrant resonator that Captain KRM p5 suggested but haven't picked it up from my post office. I'm a little worried that because it's 4.5 inches in height it might be an issue when and if my car bottoms out. P5 on Tien Basis on the lowest setting.

Any thoughts? vbmenu_register("postmenu_3572771", true);
