Way to get around without a license???

Ok, so let's just assume I don't get my racing charges dropped, and I get the minimum license suspension...I'll be without a car for 6 months. Can't get a bike. I'll be at college, so it won't be so bad, but I still need a way to get to work, etc...

Scooter? Moped?

Legally it has to be 49cc or less to ride unlicensed on VA roadways. The peugot speedfight claims top speed around 50-65mph with the engine restrictor removed. Supposedly there are other toys you can add to pep up the scooter a little more...i/e exhaust.

Anyone have any ideas? I don't know jack about bikes. 49cc sounds like a weedwacker motor to me!

Yes I know these things are expensive, but 1. I NEED transportation, and 2. I still want to have some fun with it

P.S- I do downhill mountain bike, and a bicycle is a logical answer, but not reasonable as far as being presentable for work..(weather, distances, time, etc...)

acutally my buddy just picked up a scooter...it's an old one (can't remember the make) but apparently people race them they have a top speed of like 90mph...

another friend just had family/friends cart him around town whenever he needed to go anywhere...try that for 2 years...you'll learn patience...it's rough though

Ha and not trying to start any fads here, maybe just a wheelie on a mini scooter or what have you. Supposedly the euro scooter engines are tuned extremely well. 65mph on 49cc's is pretty freggin crazy.

And the old/old looking one is probably a vespa. They are fast. I don't like the danelectro/60's/milkman look to them though
A friend got one and he seems to pick up a good number of chicks on it though

Just for the record, making a moped go faster than the restrictor allows it is also illegal. The restrictors are there to keep it under mandated speeds.
As if breaking one law isn't enough, you're setting yourself up for more trouble playing with that. Get a moped. Do your time, and learn not to do it again.

OK, I know this is illegal, immoral, potentially costly and maybe just downright wrong but...losing your license means you don't have a car WHY????? Lots of folks have been known to drive without license's and never got caught. If you're in a place where you really need a car and as long as this is not about your parents taking your car away or something like that. Stay below the speed limit, don't even THINK about beer if you're driving, and be extremely careful at intersections. You sure wouldn't be the first person to drive without a license for 6 months.

Why? because DRIVING IS A PRIVELAGE NOT A RIGHT!

Nowhere in the constitution do you have the right to drive a car. It is a privelage. Remember that. It is a privelage that should be taken away from a lot more people than it is. Laws are made to make this happen. When you break them, you pay the price.
If you street race, get caught, and lose your license, you are ignorant to think this is wrong. The law has been there all along. it is your responsibility to know this before you do stupid things like that. Ignorance, or claimed ignorance (lack of knowledge by definition) is not an excuse.

Am I highly opinionated on this? Yes. Do I think it's right to lose your license for street racing? Yes. Do I think you deserve jail time if caught driving without a license? Yes.
Deal with it. It's the law. Try following it from time to time.

yup...just cuz you have a car doesn't mean you get to drive it...my friend found out the hard way...he got busted driving on a suspended license...got to spend the night in jail, etc, etc...don't do it...my friend was even driving careful but circumstances made make a quick reaction and get pulled over...he asked the cop if a lot of people get taken in for driving w/o license...answer YES all the time the cop said they arrest people for no license...

Whoa CJ...take a pill or something buddy! I absolutely agree with you about street racing and all that. I'm not in anyway condoning street racing...All I was saying is that in the real world, a LOT of people would simply drive through this six month suspension without even thinking about it.

No Worries. I really do agree with you about the racing. Man, we have had three or four deaths in Houston just this summer. A few weeks ago someone ran across a median and smashed into a family in a van...that's truly stupid and sad and I'm with you 100% on that.

I cant stand street racers and most teen drivers (even though I am). They are so immature, they think they can do what they want and there tough s&$t! They are dangerous to everyone arond them and there the reason why our insurance is so damn high!
