Water pump

hello everyone, can anyone tell me if the water pump of ours MSP is the same of the regular protege??

Yep...not too bad of a job. Should do your timing belt while your at it. Oil pump wouldn't hurt either since it'll be easy to do.

do i have to quit the timing belt?? or can i get to the pump from down??

You gotta pull it.

You gotta pull valve cover, timing cover crank pulley timing belt then water pump. You may as well replace at least the timing belt while your in there. Oil pump would be a good idea too
