wat rpm to launch at

as the title stats wats a good rpm to launch at on a stock ms3 its 40 degrees about outside im going to race my frriend today with an srt-4 and i want to be able to launch nicly thanks

your car is FWD.... dont launch.. wheel spin is ghey!

a nice roll out will in essece give u a better "launch"

Do you have any advice for the poster on how to hell get his car down the track/road without launching? A feathered throttle is still a launch.

For what it's worth, I'd launch at about 2500 rpm, no more than 2700, feather the throttle after the tires break and short shift out of first into second as soon as possible.

The best advice anyone can get, though, is not going to come from one of us, but by self education: practice, practice, practice. In these cars the launch, the 60 foot time is everything. I'm still working on it and having difficulty getting below 2.3 sec. 60 ft. time.

this car is difficult to launch. you can't dump the clutch. i just went to the strip and got 13.97 from launching at idle. NO revving, no holding rpms at 2500 or anything.
my car just spins and hops anything over 1200.
you gotta practice as the cat above me says

dude 40 degrees + 280hp + bad tires = bad news, your buddy is gonna spin also so your best bet is to launch as close to idle as possible so when hes spinnin you can be moving

Drop the tire pressures down a bit. Launch from Idle and control wheelspin with throttle. Launching these cars is an ART. Really takes getting to know the cars powerband (while already rolling). Throttle control! Throttle control! and more Throttle control! Which means don't Floor it while in first (45-50%) and slightly getting on it hard in 2nd (70%)
