Whoa. That is badass. (werd) to the Black Mica P5s! REPRESENT!!! (2thumbs)

I'll look to see what Polish I used. At first I tried Mother's Pure Carnuba, with limited results. It came off easily, but didn't get as black as the Eagle One I tried next. The problem with the Eagle One was the terrible time I had getting it off. And I wash/wax about 3 times a month. This time I used my Parents Meguiar's Polish for Clear Coats and it was as easy to get off as the Pure Carnuba, but as black as the Eagle One, so I'm happy.

Oh so Sexay! The rims set it off especially on black. I thinkthey would look good on all P5's but on Balck, So HAWT!.

Nice high quality pics. How much did the 8 rims with tires set ya back?

I always disliked the rx8 wheels. I now retract my statements. Your car looks excellent.

Definitely. Looks like Mazda put those wheels on the wrong car. They look way better on the P5.

Question<>

How hard was it to remove the moldings? Better yet..how did u do it..?
Looks so clean man...major props..probably the best looking P5 on this site!

Sweet...I don't know why all the P5 owners don't remove the side moldings.
I think when removed the side markers (near the headlights) stick out too much.

... or maybe that's just with mine since they're color matched to the car so they look like part of the side molding.

congrats on some great pictures, they make me wish I got black. The rims look amazing, how much $$?

The side markers and turn signals on the front bumper are both going to go as well. I got hit in the front, and when it gets repainted, those are getting deleted and filled. Now I just need someone to break into my trunk so the emblems can go the way of the Dodo.

The fronts only rub under extreme situations. Going into my underground parking for instance, if I go at a good clip, say 15km/h down the 30 degree ramp, then hit the flat section, while turning full lock, the tires give a rub on the inside of the fender well. It did that with the stock rims/tires mind you not as badly. Other than that, the only thing was you can't put the wheel weights on the rear lip when balancing them, you have to use the stick on kind on the inside of the rim. There is only about 2-3 mm of clearance between the rear inside rim lip and the shock/spring mount assembly. But since that all moves as one unit, that distance stays the same and it never rubs.

Its all close, but it all works. Rims were $800CAD, tires were $1100CAD after taxes, mounting and balancing. The rims were obtained through a person I met at the gym I work at, who bought a new RX-8, and already had rims ready for it. When I asked him what he was doing with the stock ones, he said they were just sitting. So we struck a deal. It worked out well since he opted to keep the stock RX-8 tires which won't fit our cars without fender flares and some creative trimming. ( 225/45/18 ).

Now I'm looking at the EDO braces for the underside to further is cornering ability.
