Warranty and BPV woes

I know the whole warranty issue has been beat to death but.....
I just put on my turboxs 50/50 hybrid. I have heard mixed things about the warranty. If I roll in there for an oil change with a new bpv or with a sri, can they put something in the computer saying that they voided my warranty? Or only if something is happenening with my motor do I need to take them off?

If anyone has had an experience good or bad PLEASE post up!!!!

I am also kind of worried because I was excited and didn't wait for my car to completely cool down and snapped one of my bpv bolts. I drilled it out smooth and put a new bolt with a nut on the back. Think they will notice, or give me grief if they do?

i highly doubt it will affect anything; especially if the factory part is on there when it's returned to the dealer with a PROBLEM. though it's dealer dependent, and moreover factory rep dependent, if it's back to stock with a problem pops up, when they see it, you have nothing to worry about IMO. we all know that the MM act allows us to mod and leaves the burden of proof on the dealer, but that's in an ideal world. the best bet is to, even if we all know that the txs hybrid valve can't cause a particular problem, to leave it on would only complicate things.

I have the same worries..

if you have aftermarket parts and something goes wrong directly related to it you will have problems. I went in the other day will DP/MP, Cobb SRI, springs, etc. they didnt say a thing. I don't think they even really noticed. Maybe one of the techs but they dont give a s***, lol. He complimented on my car.

Honestly, just remove the parts. When we had the CX7 in for work it took twice as long because of the intake and BPV.(hand)

I guess it's one of those things in which you will not know unless you try it.

I'm just not so sure it's worth the chance of voiding my warranty.

The only reason why I would go to the dealership would be if I had a warranty type problem. In this case I would simply remove all of my shenanigans and what have yous and return my vehicle to stock before driving (Hopefully not towed) my happy ass over to the dealer..

What dealer you go to MS3077?

Well I was going to Corry Fairbanks Mazda in Longwood off of 17-92. Not going there anymore because about 2-3 weeks ago I went there to see about getting my hood re aligned and some service tech named Bill was giving me s*** about it. He was trying to claim I was probably street racing and jumping curbs with my car and that's why my hood was miss-aligned. I swear I almost decked that prick! To make a long story short I had that ass jack summon his supervisor for me and found out that my problem wasn't really a problem... You see there's these little rubber things that rest under the hood that are adjustable and depending on how they are adjusted they can make it appear like your hood is all ****** up (miss-aligned, etc)

So to answer you question, I really don’t know lol!

I've heard so much bad stuff about them. And when i was comparing prices when I was buying mine they woudlnt offer me a price below MSRP..jerks lol.

I think Classic has a better reputation? I go to daytona mazda and never really had probelms iwth the service people. They told me the only time I'd have problems with aftermarket parts is if it was directly related to the problem. And if that was the case...they would ask me to put my stock parts back on and they would do warranty work.

But that was when there was a different service manager...now there's 2 women so.............nevermind, lol.

I was going to say looks like I'm driving to Daytona for service! Anyway I would steer far away from Corry Fairbanks Mazda!!!

I've heard good things about Classic Mazda so that's probably where I'll end up going if I need to. More research is needed however...

A bov isnt even worth the hassle and anxiety(taking to dealer)in my opinion. Also a hot zone for boost leaks.

Not to worry

lestat13 I,ve been in my dealer with my HKS BOV vta and my custom intake(no is not the spectre one) and they have change a tire under warranty, did both of the recalls not questions ask. On a side note one of the tech took a drove with the car with my permission and when he came back told that cthe car sounded amazing with the BOV and that it was running good.

Thanks for the input guys. I will just remove mods before taking it to mazda. I just wish I could do my own oil changes without voiding the warranty.......

Just take it to jiffy lube or something and keep your receipts

Actually just found out that you can take you car to Tire Kingdom for service and keep you warranty in tact. They will actually pull up your cars suggested service with the dates from Mazda and preform the work for less than what the dealer would charge. I don't know about you other guys with mods but this sounds like a great deal to me! They aren't going to hasle you about MODS and s*** and void your warranty like the dealer would.
