My car shakes when i stop.. Does anyone have this problem. I only have 13k on my car they rotors should not be warped. My steering wheel shakes and my break peddle throbs. I know its in the front also

Do a search.. there was even one thread earlier today.. but there are 3 more threads that I know of, one being by me. It does sound like warped rotors, and if its over 13k they might not warranty it.. I got mine machines at 17k miles.

I had this at about the same mileage....I got mine real bad when coming down from higher (100+) speeds....Rotors warped, and if you bring them in to the dealership, they should shave them no cost/under warranty. Good luck w/ it!

Usually the rule of thumb is if you feel it through the steering wheel it's the front rotors and if you feel it through the pedals it's the rear rotors. Sounds to me like both are warped. Mazda's are famous for crappy brake rotors. Just get them turned at a local brake shop, unless the dealer will warranty (good luck). Or just save up some dough and get the aftermarket rotors from www.corksport.com

Well thanks guys. Yeah I had A Ford Probe GT actually 2 of them and both had bad rotors and calipers. Also had alot of suspension problems. Mazdas in the 80s were so much more reliable.

true that...which is why I'll never get rid of my 82 RX-7....it's such a sweet car!

yes so crappy infact that in 1993 when Mazda released the first year of the 3rd generation RX-7 the only thing that its brake system matched up against was a 911 turbo, man, thats gotta suck. i'd hate to have comparible breaking to one of those peices of s***

The rotors do SUCK ASS!

I have 3500 miles on my car and Thursday I will be going to Morande Mazda to get them REPLACED. Rick the tool thought he was only going to machine them HA HA yea right, machine my rotors with 3500 miles on them, I think not. He gave me s*** but I gave it right back, I've heard of his attitude before I called I then called Mazda, said this was a joke that a car with 3500 miles on it would get machined. No way they are taking life outta my rotors!

I want the autoexe rotors they sell on corksport.com. So expensive though.

*drooling over the rotors*

Do you wash your car after driving for a while...if so, do you notice steam coming off the front and/or rear rotors. This is because the rotors are HOT, which will cause the rotors to warp!!
That still doesn't change the fact that the rotors may suck.

Alright that comment about teh RX-7 and the 911 was stupid. This is a mazda protege! not a RX-7 common guys.

yeah I have had warped rotors on my car since 15,000 miles, take into account tho I race, so no surprise. Also I work at a machine shop, I could do them myself, shows how lazy I am. I'm at 33,000

mine are def warped or a hardspot, i took it to mazda and said to check it out, of course they said nothings wrong with it. typical jerks! i hate mazda

HAHA yeah when i take my car in or call the dealer... They know my voice and I say.. "this is Cory so and so with the orange" and they cut me off and say we know what is wrong with it now.... Pretty sad huh. I bet they are kicking themselves in the AS* for being certified a certified dealer for the car lol.

I bet those sexy Brembo Brakes on the Evo wouldnt warp.
