warning lights with only 4,000 miles

2013 Mazda CX-5 Touring
I have a cx5 touring. On my way to work today, 4 warning lights came on and the car slowed down. I pulled to the side of the highway and turned the car off. Turned it back on and the lights are still there. I drove 9 miles to work and called the dealership.

They said they'd call me back after I insisted they come get the vehicle and bring me a loaner.

The warnings were : check engine, automatic transaxle warning, tire pressure monitoring system warning, and traction control system/dynamic stability control indicator.

Any ideas? Am I right to expect to pay $0 for this since it's under warranty (including a free loaner)?

They just came to my office and took the cx5 and left me a Mazda 6 as a loaner. I bought a new car vs used hoping to avoid stuff like this

These things happen, unfortunately. Being machines, they are imperfect. Hopefully a few initial gremlins can be taken care of, so that this doesn't happen again (anytime soon anyway).
Having all of the dummy lights at once...that is pretty radical.
Is it AWD?
Perhaps related to wheel speed sensors.
Don't fret! They'll get it resolved for you.

Yes, it's AWD. Maybe that has something to do with it. The hwy ramp has a bit of an incline and it was raining.

My husband just talked to the dealership. Apparently they called Mazda corporate (or whatever) and they had to reset the computer for the transmission. They then need to run it for a certain amount of miles to see if it's fixed. They said they'd have it all day tomorrow too.

And I assume warranty, no charge.

So far, not aware of anybody here with this problem, let's see what they say.

I'm currently experiencing the same issues - cx5 maxx sports AWD Diesel - I've been without my car now for 2 weeks while Mazda try and sort out what's wrong with it. So far, I've had the transmission replaced, ABS component replaced plus a "boost" sensor. I had the same warning lights and my car was not driveable. Repairs are covered under warranty and you should receive a free loaner.

Hmm. 2 weeks without your new car. I think, I'd expect an appoligy and a new different vehicle. Leet the dealer play with it for months if they like to send it back to Japan. Ed

Oh my goodness! I hope that's not the case with my car. Hopefully I'll hear something from the dealership later today and I'll post an update.

I just got my car back. They had to reset the programming for the transmission and drive it 50 miles to make sure there were no more warnings.

The paperwork says "scanned vehicle-3 fault codes. Called tech line. Ran self test for transmission and passed. Deleted fault codes and had vehicle driven for 49 miles. Rescanned after no fault codes returned. Instructed by Mazda to return to customer. "

So cross your fingers it's all fixed and won't happen again.

Insist that they tell you exactly what fault codes were triggered. That can be *very* important if it is a recurring problem.

Thanks, I will. I noticed on their copy of the service record, there were about 20 pages stapled together. I only got the receipt/service summary copy. I'll give them a call and ask for the codes.

I hope things are fixed for you, but I would be surprised if resetting the codes fixed the issue. Keep good records of problems experienced and dates they have the car. I recommend being patient and amicable since it sounds like they are treating you well.

Interesting (diesel-related) first post. Anything else new or of concern?

Interesting to me as I had the exact same issue at 4000 miles and Mazda decided to replace my transmission. Happened again 2000 miles later but this time it was the 'sensors needed reset'.

Looks like my CX5 is heading down this same path. Has had the check engine light on without consequence for about a week. Had it booked in with the dealer when time available. Then one morning 2 other lights (traction control and tyre pressure) came on, and gearbox suddenly very harsh on shift and won't go into 5th or 6th.
Dealer says the fault code is a boost sensor and has part on order, but might be waiting 2 months plus for part to come from Japan (WTF).
Anyone know the fix for this fault, I suspect just a reset will do it. Also they seem reluctant to disconnect sensor and reconnect, sometimes these faults are just a poor connection or a bit of debris in the plug.
Cheers, Adam...
