I'm not sure if it could be modified to mate with the stock 2nd cat. I didn't bother cause I did the high flow cat at the same time as the header install. I'll take a few measurements the next time I've got the car on the hoist.
I actually had a 2 1/4 custom cat back with a straight through muffler, but I lost way too much down low so I just put the stock mid section exhaust pipe back on. The car is a lot more fun to drive around town now! I still haven't had time to figure out my CEL yet tho'. It's on because of the second O2.

the light SHOULD go out if you use the o2 sensors to straddle the high flow cat. and because you got a CEL, i am holding off untill someone cang et it on with the CEL.

you should get a hold of these headers from Ric, modify the EGR connection to fit the protege, and offer it with a high flow cat pipe that allows use of the second o2 sensor behind the cat to prevent a CEL. (just a thought)
