Wait until snow melts to get the car, or buy a set of steelies and snows?

Those RH wheels are never going to see the snow, so I'm trying to decide if I'll wait until the snow buggers off and dies to buy the car, or if I'll just buy a set of steelies and snows now, instead of october...

thoughts?

what bolt pattern and offset is needed for 15s? What width/aspect ratio?

grue - this has come up many times, do searches in this forum for snow, offset (55), steelies and you'll lern about our collective experiences.

I am running Michelin Arctic Alpin on 195/55/15 on cheap 15x7 alloys. I wish I had gone with 205/50/16 (I think that is what tirerack recommnends) to keep the size closer. With much smaller tires the speedometer and odometer are off 4%.

Yeah, I wish I had done that... but I had slim pickings of tires in stock in the local tire shops and I HAD to get them since I could not get the Potenza's to get me home! This size was spec'd out on tirerack.com so I knew it would work, oh well. At least I am saving the RH's and I got the snows for cheap.

You're not going to find a lot of selection of snow tires at this point, even online. I'm now hoping my car doesn't show up until March/April so I don't have to try to find snows. Then next September/October I can order some.

Yeah, just Michelins on tirerack, and I abhor Michelins. If the grey units won't be coming in until "early summer" as is claimed, then I'll be fine, I can order some steelies and Nokians in the fall
