vvt tuning with cobb AP

My boyfriend just got an AP for his 09 speed. He recently did his own tune with it and is wondering if anyone has ever tuned the VVT? If anyone has, how many degrees did you retard/advance, and what is the highest you can go?? he saw on the software 35 degrees is the highest, but isnt sure. Has anyone here done this, and if so do you have a map or any data logging he could look at? Right now tuning ignition timing (20 degrees), maf curve (11.5 AFR) and is at 282whp. He just wants to see if he can pull out a little more power. Any help would be great, thanks guys!

A few have messed with VVT, but he needs to lean it out a bit, 11.8:1 or 12:1 is still safe, and he can work on ignition to get more power. What other mods does he have? Is he monitoring fuel pressure?
