VTEC Dave stopped waitin', now which car should he get?

Ray, have you started looking into another dealership for work since they've talked about cancelling Pontiac? You should get a job at Suburban Mazda, less miles, closer to home!

this dealer isn't going anywhere... we sell pont. gmc and buick so were good. plus we're one of few dealerships that have sold all our 08's and our sales are down but not as much as a lot of other dealers. we're good.

only time will tell. i will say that if they don't give them the loans this country will have the worse recession ever. it'll be worse then the great depression. every single person will be affected by it in one way or another.

no doubt...but the companies need to make SERIOUS changes to be able to deserve the money I think, but yeah, its unfortunate for the millions involved in the US autoindustry that could be affected...but we're getting off topic now lol

But they're selling Pontiac and Buick, and barely considering keeping GMC.

I was gonna say, you may wanna consider heading to a more successful, foreign dealer. Less chances of you losing a position. Don't take the owner's word for it.

You may even be able to sell yourself for more pay at a new dealer for service.

staying where i'm at. i'm not going anywhere. GMC is not going anywhere. buick gmc and cadilliac are gm's most profitable brands. i'm safe and not in fear of losing my job. if i was i'd already be job hunting. i'm fine.

i had a cosigner on the mazd3 but did not need one on the honda...i know since may my credit score has gone down..i have taken on more debt with schoool loans and such.

and i highlly doubt my mom will cosign for me again.

you fail to see it's not just the auto industry that fails. everything fails. no auto industry no healthcare for millions of ppl. less people buying electronics, getting drugs, flying, clothes. everything is affected by this. AND IT"S NOT FREE MONEY. it's a LOAN has to be repaid. they step up after 9/11 to get the country rolling again, they have paid more in taxes then they are asking to borrow over their companies hist. the banks are the ones that shouldn;t have gotten bailout money. the auto industry should not have to even go through all the b/s for this. they are the ones that donate money for cancer research, hurricane victims, helped 9/11 victims. not honda, toyota only two companies helped after 9/11 and that was vw and hyundai. but honda and toyota posted their biggest sales gains in the months leading up to 9/11 in the us but couldn't offer help. the us car companies do deserve this money(that has to be paid back and the gov't earns interest off)

hmm maybe i can ask the government for a bailout LOL...i mean s*** they are just giving money away at this point....

I have to disagree. The auto companies do not DESERVE the loans. But they do, however, need it.

GM and Chrysler have been making a lot of domestic bulls*** that only Michiganders buy. The rest of the country isn't deceived by the huge Big 3 cloud that has sat over Metro Detroit for years to come.

They do not make things that are competitive or last long. And the bullshitting finally caught up to them.

But Ray, you'll say what you say because you work at a Pontiac dealership and apparently see how "good" the quality really is.

The only Big 3 company i'm impressed with this point is Ford. Alan Mullaly pulled Lear out of financial turmoil, he's going to pull Ford out of it. And their vehicles definitely are a bit higher in quality than they were close to 10 years ago.

And this is also backed by people that I am close with that are in the business, as well as financial friends with STRONG credibility.

There's a reason why Ford will succeed and GM/Chrysler will merge or claim bankruptcy.

I'd start looking, Ray.

i know if the big 3 do crash...my dad will be out of a job, my step dad, and my mom....

my dads company makes parts for the big 3 but they are slowly moving to airplane parts, my step dad does enviromental clean up which ussually involves the big 3 or a factory making parts for them...and my mom owns a cleaning service..and a lot of her customers are doctors and such but some are autoworkers so she would loose cliental too

So Dave...

This is exactly why I was saying you should be considering something economical. Considering the fact you depend on SOMEone or SOMEthing to make money and pay for the things you own, you should be considering an economical option for a vehicle rather than an emotional option.

You REALLY need to consider the long-term before it's a reality because you will be in far more emotional pain if you can't afford the car payments on this fancy car you end up getting.

You depend on your car for school and work, just like the rest of us. Don't put yourself in more debt than you have to. Prepare for the future.

Everything is always what you make of it. You can enjoy a car that might not be as fast but is reliable and cheap to maintain. You'll certainly enjoy the extra money in your pocket, for those rainy, or downpouring days.

And by the sounds of it, you're pretty connected to this failing economy just like the rest of us.

If you ARE to trade your car in, go and get something inexpensive. New, but dependable.

Think of it this way everyone... If Dave buys a new car then we dont have to hear about this BULL s*** any more... Seriously, this whole epic situation in non sense and needs to end. Dave, I dont know how you are not on meds by now to handle your anxiety! Buy a new car and eat the higher payment by working a couple extra hours a week.

(lol)(lol)(rofl2)(rofl2)(rofl2) Are you kidding??? s*** if dave had a new car there would be something he'd find to whine about......(hah) Dave, i'm sorry but u could give most women a run for their money when it comes to DRAMA(rlaugh)(moon)
