i got two questions that maybe you guys can answer. my son replaced my intake manifold with one that has the vtcs removed. i had a erratic idle and a whistling sound. all the hoses looked plugged in and we made sure the bolts were tight. he raised the idle but still got the whistle. had a cel but reset it before checking the code. so do guys think vacuum leak somewhere? and where is the whistling coming from? car runs good now but i think i might be using a little more gas at idle. gonna try it on the freeway tomorrow going to work. thanks for any ideas

as long as it was done correctly, you wont have any issues. it sounds like you just are suffering from an intake leak. just remove the manifold, and fine out what he did incorrectly. he must have let the PCV hose unhook behind the manifold, or the rubber seals themselves were dirty and not sealing.

thanks for chiming in. the whistle was going away, then my son lowered the idle and the whistle came back. hoses all good but don't know about rubber seals? car runs good and sounds stronger, more throaty? anyways he doesn't want to reinstall it took a lot out of him and his friend. ( i was working and he said that the install was my christmas present) thanks again.
