VTCS Removal

theres a very good chance i am gonna be bored and do this on saturday. while im at it i can install my thermal spacer.

You might have to remove the two intake halfs when intalling the spacer, I left mine all as one piece and when i was removing it and installing it i was touching the firewall for both. I'm not entirely sure though if you will need to do this. Let me know if you run into any difficulties along the way, but yes this would be the best time to install your spacer.

Yeah Ive had the IM out a few times. First to put the VICS back together after they fell off, and the dealership told me it was impossible. A second time about 10k later to make sure everything was looking good still. What size tap did you use?

Yeah, I need to get really familiar with everything that involves this. I am sick of being dependent on asshole mechanics that don't just plain don't care! (loser)

Anyhow, I think he said he used 5/16 tap in post 11.

umm try to remember that you'll all probably need to get a new gasket unless you'd like a nice leak in vacuum

I have 2, one for each side of the spacer

I just took mine out, port and polished the intake manifold, and intalled a thermal spacer. I also intalled headers at the same time so it will be hard to notice the hp I gained from just the VTCS removal.

Word to the wise though. Give yourself lots of time to do this, aspecially if your going to do a port and polish. I would advice you all to start it on a friday night and work on it all weekend. It takes a while to remove the intake manifold, and my VTCS was a b**** to remove. The screws that hold the flaps onto the rod would not come out and I had to cut the rod into several pieces to get it out.
