VTCS Missing..solenoid missing..HELP!

I recently did the headgasket on my gfs MP3 and noticed something different compared to other 2.0s. I noticed on the intake manifold rather than having VTCS and VICS it only has the VICS. I have been doing research and notice it didnt come this way stock. It also is missing the one of 2 solenoids that sits on top of the intake manifold. I looked through some of the harness on the rail and cant find cut wires for it. When I bought the car, the guy told me he swapped the motor with a motor from a 01 626 I believe it was. I searched and read that those intakes only came with a VICS not both. Also...a few months after buying the car I noticed the main harness had been cut under the battery area. Could it be that he may have also swapped the harness from the 626 also? My big issue is trying to find a way to make it work. Or will I have to go back into the harness and look for the cut wires if any...and add the missing solenoid back on?
Car seems to be running funny and im trying to get it back to 100%

Yea I am now aware of that. Im searching trying to find how the vacuum lines run to the solenoid...I cant find nothing so far..

Well under the valve there is a vacuum line that comes out of the intake manifold, then there is the one on the bottom of the valve. Those 2 come up together to the solenoid. Im trying to figure out where the hose that comes up from the intake manifold under the valve goes (not on the actual valve itself)..you can see it loose in the last pic. The other hose from the valve I have going to the top of the solenoid, which then goes to the back of the intake manifold....correct?

ill try to look to see where it should go when my gf gets home. i think i remember it going into the solnoid. go to autozone and get them to run a scan and see if p0660 comes up it wont make the check engine light come on.

One should go to the manifold itself, the other to the actuator. Feel around under the manifold there are vacuum nipples under there

Yea if you could do that thatll really help. The diagram posted is similar to the one ive been looking at...and just confuses me because it has both valves...lol

both valve are connected to the same vacuum source with a "t". when i redid all my lines i printed the diagram and marked them off with a highlighter till i was finished, made it easier. besides the part that's in the green circle you do not have on your car..

Yea I see that...but what I'm trying to figure out is where it goes from there.... Maybe I'm not seeing it in the diagram

Well then I guess ill plug one of the nipples since I already have a hose going to that solenoid. I don't have that thing I'm guessing for the cruise control? On the top left corner.

no but he should be used to working on a car. dsms are a real weekend car because you break it saturday or sunday then have to wait all week to get paid and fix it then it just repeats every weekend. people that call fords fix or repair daily have never owned an eclipse talon or lazer

Actually my DSMs have been pretty reliable. My daily 1g runs 11.8s@118 which isnt too bad considering I havent even put much into it. My 2g also gets me around with no issues. Sadly...this Mazda was supposed to be our "commuter" but has been down more than any of my DSMs would. Not saying it isnt reliable...I pretty much put blame on the previous owner not taking care of it. Thats why im trying to get it up to par. Sorry if I dont know some of the terms...I had no idea what you meant when you mentioned "FSM".

I can trash talk if you wanna trash talk all day on why id prefer a DSM over this Mazda...but thats not what im here for lol
