Alright, I liked the movie. I bought the DVD (and I never run out on the first day to buy a DVD). It got me more interested in sport compact cars. Hell, I bought one after seeing it in the theatre! Was it realistic? Of course not. Days of Thunder wasn't realistic either (not even close) but it had some great stuff. I've never seen a realistic movie on computers, car racing or radio. By the time you write the scene so the public can follow along, computers can access anything, cars can shift 8 times going up through a five speed and DJs never have to worry about the next record.
Wait...the most realistic movie about radio is "American Graffiti". Wolfman Jack sits outside of town in a transmitter building playing the music. Watch the movie again. His scene with Richard Dreyfuss is a classic of American cinema.
I do wish that they had put a piece on the DVD featuring the cars. That would have made it worthwhile.
