2016 CX5 Grand Touring
Hi! New CX5 owner.. Got my 2016 Grand Touring w/Tech in November of last year.

I was going thru the online manual looking for some solutions for the Voice Recognition system that just never seems to work quite right. So I thought I'd try and use the Voice Recognition Learning Function. (I don't have an accent..that's why it's weird to me). But.. Being as I apparently have the Type B radio in my Grand Touring version, that function doesn't work??

page 5-84 of the manual "1. Press the pick-up button or talk button with a short press.
2. Say: [Beep] Voice training"

Yeah.. that does absolutely nothing...

Also.. I have an iPhone 6s with the latest updates on it...

I see that a new Infotainment OS came out just a few weeks ago.. I'll see if I have the latest version or not.

Any insights?

thanks!

I have a 2016 GT also, and I cannot enable voice training. I have given up on voice recognition functions in this car...

The system just doesn't work, at least on my 2016. I've not once been able to enter a voice command and have the system do what I expect. That's one item on my list that I think Mazda really need to address.

Have you gone through the tutorial on the voice commands while in the car?

Activate the voice prompt and say "TUTORIAL"

"Tutorial" will give you a good sense of the available options, and phrases/word choices to use. There are several in car tutorials available for different features.

I have used both the old and the new voice systems on the CX-5, and have not had much difficulty once I knew exactly what the Computer wanted to hear from me.
