i've had mine for about a year, fitment is perfect no fading or discoloring and yes i would buy it again

water getting in the engine bay is an issue for the 99-00

same for 01-03 ?

i have an 03 msp and i have no issue with water in engine bay the only problem i have is i lost the bolts for the rain gaurd

Im still debating on whether to get this or the reverse cowl hood. I was pushing towards the reverse cowl but with all the good responses about the evo hood now im undecided again. What do you think I should do if price isnt an issue?

No water leaks. The small 'ports' on the far sides are useless, but if I ever have the need to purge I will do it there. Fits very close, so don't add too much height anywhere. My custom radiator bracket hits the VIS emblem on the bottom of the hood. The bracket ads like 1/4", so that shows you the close-ness. Buy it....it will totally change the look of the car. Of course I do not care for that much CF, so I painted mine.

no wieght saving aspect.
Its just a over lay.
Those pointless ram air vents.

Do people get VIS hoods for anything other than looks?

BTW mine seems much lighter than stock, though it means very little and adds no performance...just an observation.

That was mainly the point... the hood is odd looking. Whats the point of the side look a like ram air? You painted your hood... i would have bought an SRP Fiberglass hood then.

His other choice for the gemini hood is a much better choice... all around.

Fiberglass hood over laid with CF... not a CF hood. If you lift a VIS hood you see where it folds over.

i thought all the "CF" hoods were like that ?? unless u get a full CF hood which is like 900-1000.
anyways i was gonna get the VIS evo hood also but the fake vents are just supper fugly. i know we have an extra hot engine bay but im starting to lean towards the OEM cf hood. the only good lookin CF hood with vent till now is the FI evo8 hood.
