Just was wondering if anyone had problems passing the Virginia State Inspection. I have to go get mine done this month, and this is the 1st time I've had to get it done since having the intake and exhaust installed. Will i run into any problems having these mods?

you won't have any problems with those 2 mods.

if for some reason you dont pass and need an inspection station, drop me a line.

I have an intake and the mazdaspeed sport exhaust muffler.. and i have no problem passing.. *knocks on wood because i need to get my inspected*

I went to this mom and pops place out here in the chesapeake area and I passed even with all the mods I have listed. The old man who inspected my car simply said "jesus boy you put alot of money in this sob" All he did was check my lights, horn, wipers, and he hardly looked at my breakpads. He didnt even say anything about the loud ass catless 3inch exhaust I have... fun stuff :)

So you got a hook up in Nova, where at in Nova?
My civic is due and I think the cage is a dead give away! Need to get this done when I get all the inline pro stuff back on. LMK.

Well i went and....Failed!!! Can u believe it? Actually it wasn't that bad, turns out that the lights that light up the rear plate were burned out. And he said my fog's weren't legal? So i went to advance and bought the bulbs and then went home and took out my fogs. Went back an hour or so l8ter and he passed me. I think he was shocked i was back the same day? LOL He told me the fog's were legal because they weren't a certain kind? The had to be certified or something? Heck i don't know? It sucks because it took me a few hours to do the install and only 30min to do the disconnect?

Normally when you dont have certified fogs all you have to do is disconnect them and they should pass you. That is unless the guy who is doing the inspection is a dick.

VA inspection is one of the easiest in the country imo, compared to most northern and even some farther southern states.

they wern't legal for the same reason that HID plug-n-play kits aern't legal, non-certified fogs can create blind-spots, which can blind people (obvisouly..) The only way to have legal fogs basicaly is to have the stock ones, or buy top lips, sometimes that is enough to pass them.

lights are pretty easy, emissions are almost a joke(if that's what you were worried about with the exhaust)...even with a straight piped OBDII civic with headders in plain sight my friend has passed inspection at several dealerships..

one thing that kinda sneaks up on your is tire tread, less than 1/16(I think?) tire tread remaining and you'll fail inspection.

Yea he said i could pass if i either totally took them out, or i could pass if i disconnected all of the wiring and nothing was connected to the battery and no wires were visible? I opted to just take them out? Don't want to run into the same problem year after year?

I think all the state inspection and emissions is for is to generate another source of revenue. When my brother was here in June, i was telling him that my inspection was coming up in August. And he was like "What is that"? So i explained it to him, and he just laughed LOL Back home in Cincinnati he said they don't even have state inspection, and they just got rid of emissions this past year.
