Pulling a WRX that was racing with another car. Had to stop before them, but I was def pulling on them both.
Im boosting 7psi only...

This is me behind an SRT4 that is pushing 17psi, when I heard he was pulling I floored it in 4th gear. Notice how the 4,500rpm VICS or VTCS (cant remember) transition feels...then @ 130mph, a cut, dont know if fuel/ignition cut.

just the spool turbo kit.

Yeah, turbo p5's are faster than lightly modified WRX's. Even with my 6 PSI I can take them out but it's hard to beat them off the line.

I love mp5s ( I drive one) don't get me wrong, but theres no way in hell a mp5 with only a turbo is pulling on the wrx, sorry.

A wrx with manual boost control (45$) easily runs in the 13s on the 1/4 mile. THe mp5 doesnt.

If you look closely, right before the rex slams the brakes he had just hit the gas and you see it shot forward. The were simply lining up while you caught up. You caught up WAY to fast for then to be racing.

The turbo P5 will pull off a roll and beat the wrx. I agree that in the 1/4mi it will be tough to compete with the AWD, that's why it has that advantage.

If you listen to the video you can hear that igdrasil let go off the gas, that's why you see the wrx pull forward.

WRX only has 160-something whp, the Spool Stage 3 kit gives at least 190whp (don't remember the exact #)

That was because I released the gas before him.
I saw the traffic, and decided not to pull any longer.
Sorry bud, but this is my everyday, I pull on WRXs often if they are stock.

About the dyno on the spool kit. I doubt my car is near 190WHP, maybe 170WHP max.

Anyways, until I see a 1 on 1 face witht the mp5 ahead, I disagree. But then again ive never riden is a turbo mp5 so I can't truely understand.

Ill take your word, Im not calling anyone a liar here, But I just think you caught up too fast in the vid to beleive they were going all out. Especially changing lanes like that.

WRX's power drops like a rock after about 4500RPM. i bet the P5 pulls till almost 6K. i take lightly modded WRX's from a roll myself. but off the line its tough seeing as they have AWD.

Well. I dont care I still have fun pulling on them!

I raced another grey WRX 5 minutes later, same results, dont have the video. Then a moded SRT4 (17psi) up to 130MPH, have the video to prove, but the SRT4 spanked me, anyway I was way behind when he pushed the gas, and he was going to pull me anyway, hes my friend and I have tried with him before.

Do a search on WRX dynos and you'll see what I'm talking about - remember, we're not talking hp at the crank here - especially since the only #s we have to compare with aftermarket turbos are hp at the wheels.

And yes, the STi is very fast, but we're not talking about STis.

WRX's are not that fast; not hating them; then are fast with the right mods.
I have beaten several with my turbo p5 (6 PSI). I found with a friend with a WRX (intake, exhaust) off the line, I lose. But on a rolling I usually win. 1st and 2nd gear I'm side to side and once I hit third I pull on him and get ahead. On 4th I pull away.
Same goes for other WRX's I have taken on.
So a turbop5 can beat WRX's especially one with 7 PSI.


PS. WRX's lose lots of HP at the wheels cause of their AWD sysytem.

Empeefive, stock WRXs are not as fast as you think. They lose a lot of power at the wheels. From a roll, it should be easy for a turbo P5 to beat one. Just last night, two of my friends raced for fun. '04 WRX vs '95 Integra GSR w/ gutted cat only (118,000 miles). The GSR pulled the WRX good.
