Vibration killer help...

Ok, I'm cool with the fact that our engine is buzzy and vibrates -- just the stock bushings in my car. What really annoys me is the change rattling in the change holder -- next to the fog light switch. I was thinking of getting some Dynamat and lining the holder with it; I'm looking at the Dynamat Original which is less than 2mm thick. I haven't checked the clearances yet, but losing 4mm out of that cubby will probably mean change won't fit in it -- at least not quarters.

Anyone have thoughts on this? I was thinking of maybe just using like a felt or velvet lining, but don't think that will curb the vibration.

Any of you audio guys think this might work. I have to see how that holder comes out of the dash, but I might have to buy a few extras to experiment.

I was also thinking of cutting a piece and putting it in the bottom of the center console -- my CD's rattle like crazy!!!

Alot of people have used adhesive backed cabinet/drawer liners. Also, you might be able to remove the tray and use the dynamat on the backside of the tray.

I used sticky back felt from Wal * Mart. They also have sticky back foam. It's like 1mm thick.

How well does that work?

I was also thinking of getting another change holder and replacing the blank switch, so I'd have:

fog lights| change holder| change holder| dimmer

my change pocket rattles and i don't even have any change in it! my window over the speedometer rattles too. it's such a pain in the ass to start the car and immediately push those two things around until the stop rattling.

jophus - you should pull the plastic over the gauges out and glue it back in with clear silicone -- just a thin bead. Then wipe the excess away before it dries. Mine doesn't rattle at all...it's just my stuff (cd's, change, etc.) that rattles around. I plan to empty out the center console so I can use it for more storage, and try lining the change holder.
