vibration at hi speeds????

sup everyone.... having a new set of wheels and tires, ive noticed now when at high speeds like 65 mph and up i feel some noticable vibrations. Given that it was propely mounted and balanced by local tire shop near my area, is there any where else the vibration can come from??? like bad mmount etc... i dont know could be bad batch of tires? anyone pls need your help and opinion or answers to my dilema... thanks

It should be easy enough to take it back to that shop and have them figure it out. It is their responsibility... Could be rotars, balance, a balance weight falling off, bad tire, bad tires, drive shaft, bent rim, etc.... They just need to try and rebalance first, then remount if that doesnt work and then look for the obvious.

I'd say "... properly mounted and balanced..." is not a "given" unless the vibration was there prior to the new wheels and tires. If that's the case, it isn't their responsibility to fix it without charge.

sighs ok... i might have to go back again and let them re balance or figure it out whats going on with this issue of mine and they better not charge me for anything else. lol btw mazdaspeedster3 you said drive shaft? could be bent? and warp rotors? sighs... well it would be hard to believe if they would tell me this is the reasons why my car vibrates at highspeed. my MS3 is still pretty new and never been driven hard or abuse to get all this issues this early...

what size is the hub bore on the NEW WHEELS? u might need to use a hubcentric rings so it wont vibrate. research on it if you're not familiar w/ it.

Ask the shop if they have the Hunter Road Force balancing Machine...if they have it they can determine if its a wheel problem or tire problem, or both...not all wheels are as round as they should be and that goes for tires to. They will be able move the tire on the rim and find the high and low spots to get the wheel to ride smooth..Good Luck and hope they can figure it out!

no your "driveshaft" isn't the cause and neither are your brake rotors. The issue is a balance issue. simple as that.

i think the new rims73 and our is 67.1 if i remember it right... yup, they gave me those hub rings and still vibrates. i guess i might have to go some where else who has better or calbrated wheel balance machine.

oh boy...im not sure what brand they using. ill check tomorrow and if they dont have the "Hunter Road Force balancing Machine." i guess thats a sign for me to bail out and look for another place who really knows how to balance a freaking tire (pissed)

yeah! what he said for sure!!! happened to me once, had to pay another place to do them over though because the first place was like, "it's gotta be something else dude."(stoned)

Did ya wax them before the tire install?

I waxed the inside of my new rims before I took them to Discount to have tires installed (brake dust protection, ya know). Neglected to tell them so, and half of my weights fell off as I was driving back to work. Wheels were still in the shipping boxes, so they didn't bother to use any degreaser/cleaner where they attached the weights. Sometimes it just doesn't pay to be anal ;)

did you have them fill the tires with hydrogen or helium when you got em? this will keep the wheels balanced AND save weight b/c the tire wheel/combo will be lighter ;)...

seriously, it sounds like a balance issue, take it back to the shop, or a new one and have them check the wheels out...
can you feel it in the steering wheel? or just in the overall feel of the car? if its in the wheel, it is more than likely the front wheels that are unbalanced... however if 1 is unbalanced its best to check all 4...
