sorry, i dont know if this is a tech question, but here goes. anyone on this board have the apc vented cf hood? or actually, anyone with any type of car with a vented hood? well i had a question for you all. i was debating on buying a vented hood, pref. the evolution style hood. what do you guys do when it rains when u are driving? is the hood just for show? everyday use? if u guys could tell me how this is solved, it would help me, thanks. - chris:D

What I would do if I had that hood and it rained would be to drive really fast so that the water doesn't go in!!! Hehehe! J/K.

How is the new Evo8 hood prepared to accept the rains?
It's vented, there must be some factory precaution that was taken to prevent water seeping into all those electrical connections.

I'd like to know as well...

Several vented CF hoods has either 1 or 2 vents...
I think the real question is if these types of hoods are used in rally, how do they prevent rain, mud, snow, etc from getting in?

I say snow, because in NE USA and most of Canada, winter is not forgiving, meaning we should buy something to only use it in summer, then change back to stock for winter...

ic... hmmm we just gotta wait for responses from other members. lol dave, sounds like a plan haha. - chris

i know there are ppl on here with the APC hoods. fill me/us in!!! please? hehe peace - chris

OK,what's the deal with all you guy's who are worried about water getting under your hood in your engine bay?Do you guys think that your engine bay is sealed off from water now?IT IS NOT!Every time you drive your ride in the rain a SH*TLOAD of water gets in there through your grille, under the hood line and from underneath! Most vehicles these days are equipped with water-tight or better yet ,water resistant connections and are usually filled with a di-electric grease to prevent moisture build up in the connections. If you want to run a vented style hood, there will be no problems whatsoever!Whether or not you beleive this, take it from me ,the biggest problem you will have is keeping the engine bay CLEAN as with the water when it comes in so does the road dirt!I ran a non functional ram air hood(KAMINARI)in the rain and in the snow for two years with absolutely,I repeat, absolutely no problems! Now what do you guys think?

DON"T BE SOO PARANOID!IT WILL BE FINE!:D

also apc hoods are not vented at all the p5 hood from APc has dual indentions on it to give you the look of a vented hood

Well the best advise that I could give is to go look at the evo hood, youll see that its vented but its not 2 big holes in the hood, its has cover pieces on the under side on the hood but Im not too sure if thats the same with the wingswest hood
