Venom VCN-1000 nitrous kit

When I get my car back in a month or so, I'm going to be getting a few mods. Among other things, I'm planning on getting the Venom VCN-1000 kit. ( www.venom-performance.com ) I know it costs (retail) about $100 more than the Zex kit but I like this kit better. I like the "driver information display" which indicates if the air/fuel mixture is too rich/lean.
What do you people think? Do any of you know a place where I can get this setup for cheap? For that matter, do any of you know where I can get a good deal on the Zex kit, if for some reason this kit doesn't work out? Any information you can give me will be highly appreciated. Thanks, Jon.

Hey JOn,
when u get ya car back???, me myself, i dont trust nitrous on these engines..other people are making me think the mp3 has a very weak engine, so i wouldn't go wit any type of N20...just my 2cents

If you're gonna do no2 venom is a pretty good kit. I know a few guys here in VA that run venom products on probes and do well with them. I have to agree with chillin though as far as the weak engines. I think turboing is fine up to maybe 8-10 psi but no2 might be a little much. From what I've seen on the BB it looks like the 2.0 isn't doing so hot.

I have gone through 4 bottles with my ZEX kit and no problems as of yet. Hell who knows though. My engine may look like s*** inside :(
I love my kit but I do want more substantial power like in the form of a turbo. But some guys have said that you can use N2O as a chiller for an intercooler. So the N2O can be used until you save the money for a turbo then use it as a chiller for the turbo or you can just put the $400-$500 buck towards the price of a turbo and be happy with the turbo. :)
The choice is yours

Hopefully I will get my car back in about a month or so (fingers crossed)! My uncle is going to be fixing it for me and I don't have to give him the $1000 deductable!!! He is going to put the Protege5 headlights on instead of the originals, and maybe a AWR header if the exhaust manifold is damaged. Damn I miss my car. :(
As far as our engines being weak, that is exactly why I am going to be trading it in after another year. I want a car that I can hook up without having to worry my ass off about. (Which is why I want the Lancer Evolution VII/I! 0-60 in 4.7!!! Stock! Under $30,000! Man I hope it comes over soon, and most importantly UNCHANGED!)
However, (like most newer cars) I feel our cars can handle a 55hp shot here and there. As long as we don't abuse the nitrous we should be fine. (no low (under 2000) RPM hits , don't squeeze for too long, too often, high octane fuel, etc.) Hell, I might even get the MSD ignition system and retard the timing just to be safe. No matter what, I'm not going to go higher than 55hp. I just can't risk detonation! Besides the fact that I'm not willing to spend the extra money on forged pistons & rods and/or an upgraded fuel system. (By the way, how the hell can we regulate our fuel pressure when we don't have a fuel return line? ) Anyway, thanks for your info guys. If you know of a place where I can get a kit for cheap, let me/us know. Thanks again, Jon.

Really? I thought I read otherwise from a couple of other people's posts. (I may be wrong) Sh*t, I hope your right. If we do have one, that just makes things a whole lot easier to run higher levels of nitrous/boost. With the MSD ignition system and a fuel regualator we should be able to safely run 75hp nitrous settings! :D Not me though. ;)

I believe because we have the Vacuum Controled Fuel Pressure regulator, than there is a Fuel Return Line. Go the the Protegeclub.com pages for more info.
