Vendor bashing?

I've read a couple of threads where an individual was less than pleased with a product or service they've received from a vendor and said so politely. The post was edited of the original posters report and a 'infraction warning' (heh?!) was given.
If the post is not inflammatory and simply reports back to the readers that they had a bad experience, why shut them down it? We need those reports to help us chose who we would like to buy from in many cases. It's consumer protection by what business owners either love or hate, word of mouth.
Furthermore, it's also helpful to the vendor by providing feedback of a quality product/service, or that they need some improvement.
You're certainly not doing the community a favor by protecting vendors, let them make the necessary changes to satisfy the customer.

I totally agree the vendor should try to make everyone happy but sometimes you simply cant but to be honest 1 or 2 bad reviews wouldnt stop me from buying a product.

Ummm.. not very helpful at all, but I do think Vendors on these threads should do a bit more to help out given the current warranty voiding trend that some Mazda Dealerships are on. After all it is in their best interest.

There are some clueless people that have created threads bashing a product that, on closer inspection, had no purpose being created in the first place.(I'm NOT referring to any issues regarding CP-E, that's a whole different story). I think it's a little unfair to the vendors to have people reporting on things that's clearly their own fault or that are installed incorrectly etc.

If you don't know how something works or if it was installed correctly, ask first before creating a thread labeled 'Problem with XYZ product" or "XYZ product caused this" etc. Just my 2 cents.

No forum should operate like that, period. There are alternatives means if you do your own research.(gtfo)

I agree with the OP....Giving your opininion of a Vendor whther good or bad is your choice.
If you received good service or parts..Great..but if not..I would want to hear that too....It helps keep people honest and helps the consumer decide who they want to purchase from.

This has nothing to do with how a product was installed If I am reading the post correctly..and even if it does...That should be able to be stated as well...and if the OP is found to be wrong..so be it.

Problem number 1: "All content created by Mazda Forums users is for entertainment purposes only. "

Problem numer 2: Vendors pay the bills for most of these forums (see the upper right corner of this page).

Not many threads are started about great service, only problems. That could give somebody a false impression on what a vendor is really like. An upstart company could have sold parts to 4 people on the forum and have one thread complaining about service. 75% satisfied. the an older vendor sold to 100 members with 5 negative threads @ 95% satisfied. The noob on the forums only see that the company with the better track record has more complaint threads and may make a uneducated purchase from the newer unproven company.

With other forums which I cannot post the link here there is a huge difference when vendors are not "protected" like they are here from what I like to call haters lol. People that have not even delt with you. There is a big difference between someone that has purchased from you and someone that has nothing better to do than enter a thread write negative. I agree with forcefed that people need to know the +/- and vendors do need to be held accountable for their service. Vendors that put in all the extra time to make sure their service is good (most if not all do here) deserve that. All i ask is that people give me a chance to fix any issues before a negative review and I think that may be a shared opinion among vendors.

If I see a negative review with your response and if it gets RESOLVED, I would more than likely buy from you. I hate dealing with people that ignore you as soon as you make the payment :D

So did anyone PM JBIRD with actual cases of this happening so he can take a look to see if there is some validity or are we just basing all this on nasty rumors? Only reason I ask if Ive yet to see this type of thread but then again Im always broke so Im never buying anything...

actualy i noticed someone say something along that lines today about one of our vendors and then when i looked at it an hour later the post was gone.

I don't know what this site's primary focus is. I sometimes get the feeling that its primary goal is to generate revenue, and secondary goal is to promote the free exchange of information. When the secondary goal infringes on the primary, it gets squashed with a quickness.

I'm a smart enough feller to know the difference between legitimate issues and mindless bashing. I don't necessarily want staff members making that distinction for me. There are some very good staff members here (Jbiird comes to mind) and some others that are no better than the members they constantly moderate. I don't want "them" changing the content of posts I am perfectly capable of understanding myself. Especially when I think some of them are idiots. :)

Same here. I do think every company has its "mishaps," but as long they follow-up or "make it right," then they're good with me :) Some of the problems aren't always just from the vendor, some buyers are idiots and bring the issues on themselves.
