Has anyone done this before? Will the kits out there work on a 2nd gen rx7? I've seen a couple on the internet, but none of them state whether or not it will fit on my rx7. if anyone knows anything please let me know.

there are some universal kits out there try www.decah.net
There was a dude with a universal kit on an MSP at the meet we had in New Jersey.

how does this not damage your door frames... Because normally you have 2-3 joints holding ur door in place once u do the conversion, isn't that making it into 1 joint?? Doesn't that put 3 times the stress on ur door frame and could cause it to bend?

*edit
"9. - Is the VDC a hinge?
A9. - No........ It is a bidirectional pivotal system. A simple hinge from your NHP, ( Neighborhood Hardware store Performance) would not work without excessive body and chassis modification and then would be extremely costly & dangerous. Don't be fooled or misled. Anyone trying to sell you a simple hardware store hinge or the idea that you can do it yourself from hardware store supplies probably owns the hardware store. Why do you think custom body shops charge $6000.00 plus to do this conversion ?" - www.decah.net

Its still a 1 joint pivotal system... which means taht joint has to take all the weight of the door.. which stress on ur door frame.. which could = bending
