wow, thanks a lot servo, nothing like recieving pat on the back from all these experienced members...i like the red lettering also, it was a difficult but nice touch.

I also got the 1st ground kit in my room waiting to install. I got them in blue, they look real nice. I think they might even look better in the car :p

damn, i just gotta get the money together!!! dammit!

my heat shield is done, i gotta install it in the car tommorrow morning, see if it looks horrible with the valve cover being the same color and not much red under the hood (might have to go and get some red hi-temp paint, and do my own covers/caps)...it looks good sitting in the room, except i hit it with clearcoat a bit much in a couple spots, and i got some streaks...hopefully when its good and dry in the morning, i can touch it up and even it out...worst case - just leave it off and show off the hideous stock exhaust manifold!

i feel the need to thank everyone that hooks me up with a positive review!!! thanks so much russian!!!

had to do that!

I'm theming my car Silver and Black. And idea where i can get some high quality black paint without spending too much? A how-to would kick some serious ass too.

RazorP5,

Your car looks sweet. Check out my cardomain page & you'll se why I like your color scheme.

I had been thinking about painting my valve cover. Now after seeing yours, Damn mine looks like s***. I painted the MAZDA letters on my valve cover blue as soon as my touch up paint came in. Like you did with a brush then color sand and clear it.

I found an anodized spray paint at my local auto parts store that was high temp. I did my brake calipers and lugnuts. I liked the way they turned out so I did my overflow bracket, then my radiator cap and oil cap.

Enough about my car this thread is all about your car

Any way you have a sweet ride.

Drive with pride.... the Protege 5 (Cuz the Mazda 3 is ugly)

valve cover

hey Razorp5 I think it looks excellent(rockon)! I was thinking of doing mine blue also but I kinda don't want to have to much blue in the engine bay for color overkill reasons, but I think you did a hell of a job!(laserp5) (rockon)

thanks! i think when you see it done in person, its not overkill...i was a bit worried about it myself, but after i did it, i was glad i did.

solid man! mine next kay, thanks ;) haha "out ******* standing" dude! peace - chris

if you were closer id help you out! its really so easy, you just need to be able to not drive your car for a day.

hey razorP5, how much work went into removing the valve cover? i like your work and i'm not tryin to cramp your s***, but i was wondering if i should look out or beware of anything if i diod attempt to paint mine. thanks.

no its easy, just take out the bolts and pull of the valve cover...while i did it i put a garbage bag over the engine to keep s*** outta it

razorp5: did you have any problem with the gasket after removing the valve cover? did you experience any leakage or loss of pressure? thanks...

neither, the gasket stays in the valve cover during the process...the underside of the cover is grooved
