I think the guy said the engine has approx. 410-425 HP.

He wants 7500 obo.

The V8 swap is great for practical reason, good luck! If I wasn't such a rotary fan, I'd think of getting one of these some time. Does give the FC a good amount of Torque!

why not just buy a car with a V8 in it? 99% of the people buy RX-7s for the rotary engine, NOT the car

Im def. not 99% of people. I usually am the 1% thats different. I love the thought of having a v8 mazda. The insurance company will not know about the v8, which will save me a ton of money. Also having a stock motor with close to 300hp at th wheels, which can take alarge shot of nitrous or great boost without having to be scared of blowing your motor. I cant wait to have it!!!

i bought my fc for the car, not so much for the engine. an ls2 and a 6 spd from a gto would make me quite happy.most v8 cars out now are too heavy or have live rear axels(yuck)

I've done the swap, watch out for over heating issues. Other than that, I did the swap in my driveway. I'm mechanically inclined, but in no way am I a mechanic.

miques- How did you like the car after you did the swap? Any other issues besides over heating? Where can I find documentation on this swap? How much did it cost you to do the swap???

I dropped a 1985 350 small block in my 91 fc. My car was automatic so i used a turbo 350 tranny. I got the engine and tranny for about $800. I got all my brackets from http://www.grannysspeedshop.com/. At the time I built my car, most of these brackets were not produced but now you can buy all brackets and the radiator as a package to make this a drop in install. I did put the rex on the dyno once and got 327hp and 408ft/lbs. Sadly, this was more than 6 years ago so I don't really have anything to show. But like I said, I did it in my driveway when I was 18 years old and delivering newspapers to pay for all this so you should be able to pull it off. If you have more quiestions, email the guy at Granny's. He pretty much walked me through the whole thing. I sold mine because it was to loud and rumbled all the time. I would literaly have to grab onto something for a minute or two when I got out of the car to let the world stop moving. I never did get the heating issues down.

One more thing, I didn't have power steering and my shocks were shot so I can't comment on the way it handled. But I did drift it before I sold it.
edit: found a picture I uploaded along time a go.

Miques- Thats the s***, Im wanting to do this swap sooo bad, guess its time to sell that turbo kit to start funding this project!!!! Wheres the best place to look to find a used rx7??? I guess I should look in the paper and stuff.

I could see doing that to a 1st or 2nd gen, but not the 3rd gen. Those cars just look to damn good, so I would have to stay mazda for that reason. I have a co-worker that has a 300 whp 3rd gen. It's nice.
