Used Rain X on windshield now auto wiper won't work

I used Rain X on the windshield, now the auto wiper sensor won't work. Any ideas what to do?

I am not sure how you know they are related.
The auto-sensing of wipers is based on LED reflection.
Rain-X creates a thin coating on windshield on the outside, supposedly transparent.
Could that be just a coincident?

Been using RainX for 4 years on my 08, never an issue with auto sensing.
Are you sure the wiper stalk is in the correct position? One notch down.

If RainX really is the cause, I would think it would eventually wear off, and the auto wipers would go back to normal

I learned my lesson the hard way with this issue as well. It will take a few weeks but will eventually wear off. Next time you apply RainX be careful not to apply to the censer located at the top center of the windshield (Above the rear view mirror) and you should be good to go!
