I rip my cds to the hard drive, then I use Merge MP3 (not a sponsor) to make it all one track. Then, I use media human converter to change to mp3. I have mediamonkey too, which I've used to add album art. No doubt, once I figure it out, I will be able to cut some corners.
All I do is to put a musical CD from Goodwill or wherever, into my CD ROM drive and it begins the process immediately and says "ripping the first track" etc... and each track only takes a few seconds, whatever.... and then I find that folder on the hard drive and that is it.. the folder, in the past, had the name of the artist, but now, it has no name... just the number of songs/tracks listed... I have to listen to the first one to make sure it is the correct CD that I just ripped... I assume they are in MP3 format.... just looked and yes, they are MP3.... but no album lable and no song labels came with them... they are all in individual folders that I created with the title of the artist or collection.. in this case, Hits From 1969..... but then when you open that folder it says track 1, track 2 etc.... I would like to find a process or at least understand why it doesn't transfer the album/song information so picking and choosing songs to dump on a flash drive would be so much easier...
I'm combining all the tracks from the CD into 1 track to put on USB. I like to listen to my music one album at a time.I'm not following. Normally when one goes through the ripping process the audio files are converted to MP3s and then stored onto the hard drive. This process is ripping.
It sounds like you are copying your CD's to the HD and then converting them to MP3 from there?
"Folder" is the only option I can select and when I select it, all song titles are listed. All other Categories are greyed out. I'm using firmware version 70.00.367 and have a 64GB stick formatted as FAT32. I've seen conflicting things about compatibility above 32GB-could this be what's causing my issue? It's not like songs don't show up, just can't figure out how to get and artist folders to show up.I'm betting that you are selecting "Artist" as the category list, rather than "Folder"...
