They same person mentioned the FS-DE is scraped but the tranny will remain from it.

The 2.3L is definitly a new motor from everything I have read.

Well, no one really knows about the tranny on the current FS-DE. The only person that I know of that has broken it is NCMP3 and that's only because he used a non-center sprung 6 puck disk. Unless there is someone else that I didn't read about that broke their tranny. And hopefully they broke their "tranny" as in transmision, instead of their "tranny" as in transexual. (rofl)

From what I understand both engines are complete new to the 3. Of course the 2.3 has already seen duty in the 6i, b2300, and now in a 145hp Focus. The 2.0 is also brandnew from what I hear. I wonder if the 3 will use the same tranny in the 6i.
