Think they'll bring back the manual transmission with the diesel option?

Here's a taste of the 175hp diesel for USA/Canada folk.
Starts off with snow driving then hits the road and freeway (sunny day no snow) - see it accelerate/overtake and reach/stay at 150km/h (93mph):
It drops off the top of the torque curve and wastes fuel.
So you're saying that the vehicle would complete the 0-100mph dash faster if one shifted it at 3K instead of the redline, whatever that is (5k?)

No, as in 0.00%..sorry but I am this sure..why? 1. Not going to offer it on a lower demand higher priced engine. 2. They've already said diesel will likely be exclusive to higher trim(s) 3. It will add to cost 4. Let's just get the engine option here and call it a win..but..paddle shifters please![]()
For you guys I doubt itThink they'll bring back the manual transmission with the diesel option?
(thumb)Thanks X...First off this dude is way over-ballsy on that snowy (tree lined) road even assuming winter tires.
Secondly the car sounds way better than expected and I so want this even more now be it 175 or 190hp- here's the $, take it and let's move on w/life.
(iagree) but also has some oompf for overtakingThe best pulling power comes at low revs. Revving it doesn’t get anywhere.

Probably by taking it up to 4800 rpm which I believe is max power.
But I usually just let the auto decide with my foot to the floor.
Red line is 5200rpm.
Without a doubt, you are right that technically the highest acceleration should come with revs but I've got some long steepish hills that I can overtake with. The problem comes with the way the auto holds on at full throttle so if you can find somewhere to experiment, try letting it do its best at full throttle then try manually changing up over the same road at a max of 2500rpm and see how it compares. Mine pulls like a train at low revs.
