US Diesel's big splash introduction

Yeah...as we've discussed elsewhere, tow regs in North America are pretty 'interesting' lol.

This recent MPG news makes me feel a lot better for sticking with a manual 3 GT and not waiting for a diesel CX5 with a narcolepsy shifter (dance)

Hello 2.5T with more power but worse mpg (uhm)

Pretty disappointing numbers, and if accurate they won't sell any of them when you factor in the additional cost and having to use DEF.

ROFL!!!

So it's...slower than my 2.5 gasburner, the fuel costs 30-50 cents more per gallon, and it will give me a RATED 3mpg over what my AVERAGE ACTUAL mpg is, and a rated 3-4mpg over my ACTUAL highway/road-trip observations. Oh, and I'd have to trade my vehicle in to get one. I bet it also lacks Android Auto and proper satellite radio.

...but by god, if I am wanting a tiny SUV to tow a horse trailer with...mah gawd I dun found the wun, Margrut!!!!

If it came with a stick, it would still exactly fit my needs. Disappointing 'official' MPG's withstanding.

And diesel's usually 10-15 cents/liter cheaper here on the left coast of Canada.

Nobody's twisting YOUR arm to buy one.

Somehow, doubting the stick will happen, but here's hoping for you that it does.

Oh so am I!

That's why I have a deposit on a silver 2018 Mazda 3 Sport GT with a manual that I should be picking up on Thursday!

Less room than I would have preferred but I got a smoking deal I couldn't refuse that kept me from switching teams to the VW Golf Sportwagen (more room and AWD with a manual) we were leaning to.

The 3 Came in ~$7000 less after taxes....heck of a lot to pay for slightly bigger trunk (and AWD).

Either way, no narcolepsy shifter only CX5 in my immediate future unfortunately. Would have loved one if I could get one properly equipped.

Maybe Mazda will bring the 6 wagon back with a shifter (even in 'Outbacked' form) in time for my next car purchase and save me having to dick around.

Picking's getting slim out here for enthusiasts with a wife, kids and a dog.

The engine has probably been down rated to pass the US emission test, and will be significantly heavier as a result of having adblue, my 2019 model in the UK will be 1820kg.
Our 2018 2.2D is 1751kg kerb weight

Quitter;)..jk jr 3gt is a sweet lil ride for sure and sounds like you scored a nice deal too! Happy you didn't give $ to VW (I know the gsw has appeal) but...well done!

Danke ;)

Yeah, got ~$2500 off sticker with all the rebates and haggling + 0% for 60.

Sure would have liked the added cargo space (and keep AWD) though.... But the 3's a darn nice ride too. Just wish it was bigger.

No interest in the nextgen 2019 3?

Region makes all the difference, but we arent getting a manual diesel cx5 here in Murica. That would be nice.
