US acoustic opinions and s/n ratio..

im trying to decide between two US acoustic amps just for my fronts..
one being the usp200

http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/...cc=01&g=110&id=features_and_specs&i=235USP200

and the other being a usx 2050
http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/USAUSX2050

the USP200 doesnt have any extra features such as bass boost and no bulit in cross overs very plain and puts out 65w rms at 12.9V.. with a s/n ratio of 90 db

the usx 2050 has some of those extra featurs that the usp200 doesnt have.. it does have a lower power rating at 50w rms at 12.9v but it has a higher s/n ratio of 100db...

is the 10 db difference going to really make that much of a difference.. ??

i have a decent headunit for my needs that already has built in crossover..pioneer deh-p630.. so having one on the amp isnt needed.. plus bass boost isnt going to be needed since im going to have a sub in my trunk and im going to use my high pass filter at 50hz or maybe 80 hz for the interior speakers that im wanting to amplify with one of these amp...

thanks... need help in deciding.. either more power, no bells and whistles or better s/n...

I would go with the one from cruchfield. It has more power, you say you don't need the xovers and it is also more than $25 cheaper. Free shipping on crutchfield and not on SOundDomain

I'd go with the one from sounddomain. Check out that THD?!?! That's on par with JL and Eclipse amps that are 2-3 times as much! The SN, isn't as good as those amps, but it's close to what Alpines are running...I'd say go with that one.

As for the crossover, if your Pio HU can do 24dB/octave or better than it's unnecessary to use the ones on the amp. But I think having them available is always a plus.

I might add that the more expensive one is also not that hideous color! ICK! :D

actually i was thinking about getting from www.thezeb.com free shipping on orders over 99 bucks.. plus i dont have to pay state tax.. since im having it shipped out of state.. and no duty because im gonna pick it up when i do a day trip to bellingham,WA.... so basically its just US coverted to CDN dollars..

as for THD.. even though its rated at .1% thd i believe the human ear would not be able to notice it until its closer to 1% or something like that.. its been awhile since i took my electronics course.. i should know this stuff.. but im more computer focused now a days..

oh and the color i was going to paint anyways..

I bought the USX600D and USX4065 for my MP3. They both sound great to me. I got them from thezeb. Had them in about 5 days. The USX600D is pushing a 12" ImageDynamics IDQ, and sounds pretty nice! I think they make great stuff for the price.

i just installed the same setup in my friend's car:D the 4065 is running a set of CDT components up front, and stock rears for now. the 600D is going to be running an ED O12 in a sealed box. the 600D is a tiny amp:D it won't be able to push the sub to it's limits, but it'll be enough to move it. the components sound sweet. definitely a great amp for the money.

I have a US Acoustics 4085 running fronts and an old kicker solobaric in my VW, and an old Alphasonic 2x30 amp running rears off the crossed-over output from the 4085. I am very happy with the setup. Good power for the price.
