Upping the Horses... for cheap.

CAI is a waste of money...gives no actual gain on the FS-DE
Header and you won't pass a visual emissions inspection
High-Flow Midpipe...same as above, but more likely to pass
Cat-back....probably the only thing you can do, and get a hp or two...

My opinion...get an axle back exhaust....and look into suspension mods...

simota are good CAI's too, and its also on P.G.
i personally would prefer suspension, and cosmetics over headers and all that since im on a tight budget. Its not worth puttin out so much money on a N/A if you are on a tight budget, Turbo would be the best.
in my opinion tho.

Cat Back is legal, messing with the cat may result in state inspection fail.
so high flow and a test pipe will prob make u fail the inspections.

you can make your car go faster by handling good. (mazda's are never known for raw power but for good handling, thats why the gutless RX8 can be as fast as an 350z around a track)

get...

stiff shocks, stiff springs, huge anti roll bars, front and rear strut bars, front and rear tie bars bigger wheels, and a good set of tires.
with those mods you can corner faster than most sporty cars.
as for power, $2000 will get you a turbo setup. go all the way or dont go at all. going halfway is a waste of money.

also if you want to go fast for free (if your single) just strip the interior to nothing, you will feel a HUGE diffrence with weight savings. i remember a video on the internet where a base model sentra went from 19 seconds in the 1/4mile to 14 just by reducing weight. (nothing was added to the car except steel rims+tires), mind you.. the car no longer had anything... not even a door or a seat, just a mik crate lol)
