Upgraded stock bixenon to Osram CBI 5000k *Pics*

Ever since I got the mazda3 I was always a bit disappointed with the light output of the stock HIDs. Osram finally came out with the CBI in D4S last month and got a set from TRS. Got them yesterday and took it out for a quick drive to check them out. These bulbs are rated at 5000k and has more lumens than stock 4300k bulbs.

After installing the passenger side I turned them on to test it out (sorry forgot to take a pic to compare) and immediately I can see the CBI's were a lot brighter than the stock HIDs. Mind you it was still sunny around 5pm at the time so I can only imagine what it'll be like at night. They are definitely brighter and whiter than stock. These bulbs usually takes 30+ hours to break in and it'll be even whiter and slightly brighter too so I'll post some updates after they break in. Oh yeah, the stock bulbs look kinda pinkish when it warms up but the CBI are bluish color during the warm up period. It warms up faster too.

Here are a couple pics from last night...

Btw, the cutoff pic above looks kinda weird and when driving at night I noticed the passenger side was kinda dim compared to driver side. I checked the passenger side today and the metal wire clip thingy that holds the bulb in place was not completely in so bulb was slightly off position. Reinstalled the bulb and made sure the metal clip is holding the bulb in place. Drove around tonight and it was much much better but now I gotta redo the passenger side since it's slightly off too :( So yeah, when installing these make sure it's completely secure with the metal clip and seated lol

If you're as anal as I am about wanting the best lighting, well this is it :D

I see that BMW and Audi are working with laser lighting that is said to be superior to CBI.
