Upgraded Motor Mount and Winter Temperatures?

Anyone have an upgraded motor mount through the winter time? How are the vibrations in the REAL cold (and i'm not talking it got down to 55F today cold). As the temps dropping things are getting louder it seems.

I have the TRZ. I had contemplating swapping over to the stock for the winter but I just got it on 2.5 months ago.

THANKS!!!

there is no difference.... you guys have to be like superman to feel every vibration and hear every little noise....(braindead

s*** i'm screwed then ... i better swap it

well thats good news was just trying to get a heads up...

Well, considering things get more brittle in the cold temps, the heavy duty-ness of the TRZ is definitely going to make the car rattle more. Even the car in stock form rattles in the cold. So I can't imagine how bad it would be..

The Medieval mm sounds interesting... are there any reviews of this mount out there? I still haven't sprung for the mm inserts from cs, and I'm thinking I might as well go all the way with a full rear mm upgrade. I'm not too concerned with NHV though, but either way 100 durometer "equivalent" sounds like an interesting claim compared to cp-e's mount of only 50 durometer.

For anyone curious, this is the description of the Medieval mm:

"The new Medieval Motorsports Mazdaspeed 3/Mazda 3 rear motor mount. Our rear motor mount is made from 6061 Billet aluminum and fully CNC machined.

This mount uses an 65A hot poor urethane. This new material holds like a 100 durometer, but contains anti vibration molecules that keep 85% of the harmonics in the bushing (less cabin vibrations). We are the only one on the market using this material in our motor mounts. Our mount will tighten up the drivetrain and help eliminate wheel hop."

It's curious to note that cp-e avoided urethane in their design, saying it did not handle the high temperatures well.

It seems there are so many rear mm upgrades available (yet so few SRI...WHY!!?). Kind of hard to choose one, but right now I am leaning towards CP-E only because they seem to make quality peices.

Oh, and sorry if this was a thread hi-jack, just seemed like a good place to ask (chair)

There are plenty of great reviews on the Medieval motor mount, you will have to look on the other forums though.

The reason why CPE avoid using a urethane, because all the other mounts on the market use the same urethane bushing from Energey Suspension. Which will only last ya 30K miles with the vary tempertures of the working engine.

The urethane Medieval uses, will not fail under high temps like the other motor mount bushing would becuase of the hot pour design.

I understand you are here to help your store out but I personally don't appreciate the fact that you're going around and listing facts with absolutely no evidence to back it up (the bushings lasting only 30k miles on ALL other mounts besides the medieval mount). It seems harmless but it affects new comers who are looking for information. And again, I wouldn't mind any of your comments if you had evidence to back them up but if you don't, please refrain from just stating what you've heard. Thanks

I'm sorry if I did crossed the line. But I have personally seen edvidence by using those same type of bushing on my other cars.

Theres a GB on the other forum at a decent price, a good enough reason for me to look at the Medieval MM

The evidence is there. We use a Hot Pour system. The same system and material as NASA and Boeing. Our bushing has far greater tear resistance, tensile strength and heat resistance than what others are using. The fact is many use the Energy Suspension bushing in the motor mounts. We do NOT. We went to great lengths to provide the right combination of harmonic and stability control. We own our own molds and worked with a few companies to bring this material to the table.
Our bushing compared to an Energy Suspension bushing is like comparing a BMW to a KIA. They are both cars and both drivable, but one will last longer, built with quality and offer far more comfort. More and more people have been making the switch to our mounts. They are the ones that can give you an unbiased opinion.

it got down to 25 degrees the other night and I didnt notice any extra vibrations, while driving atleast.

nice good to hear!! thanks for the update man... can't wait for early mornings when I get in my car and its so cold my car's temp gauge says "Please don't turn me on."

So according to all of this, it's possible that my CS inserts are going to crack or break over time?

That's disappointing..

if you'd like to send me a free sample of the medieval motor mount i'd be glad to compare against others... and post results here ???

HAHA yeah, make that me too, the more cold weather tests the better right?
