Should I invest a little more money and get a upgraded k04 or a exhaust mani

depends. what are your other mods. also, as a side note, apparently these two mods are supposed to yield similar figures...

+1 on the save for boom, that is unless you are tuned.

Otherwise I'd say that the upgraded K04 is still a K04 and I wouldn't spend the coin for it.

Some might say save for boom IF you are tuned.

Lot more tuned cars with blown engines than those running stock tune with reasonable mods and full ECU control. I'm not saying the problem is with AP or Standback from a hardware-software standpoint. It's with the known tuning difficulties on this engine and with tuners (either owners or professional tuners) not paying attention to keeping things safe, or with use of manual boost controllers set too high, and it doesn't take much to be "too high." There's just not a lot of headroom on this engine for tuning mistakes, IMHO.

if i were you I would save up enough to do both at the same time...would be a PITA to revisit it later on if you ultimately plan on doing both mods

I have accesport with base tune right now but planning on getting custom tune after these mods. Should I go with the t3 turbo and mani setup
