Update on protege Supercharger!

i got lazy of searching. i might be getting on this deal if matty is still making them next year.

obviously it has to be in the car and tuned before any track times can be posted....I think dyno #'s are a fair assessment of a vehicles abilities though

we are shipping the haltech and harness to matty tomorrow along with the fuel pump

Then the superchrger for you may not be the solution.

Its not only deleting the A/C compressor to make space to fit the S/C unit, but its also a matter of getting around the sudden load added to the crank when the A/C compressor turns on.

Don't forget that the compressor is a pump working against the head pressure of the refrigerant. When that electric clutch kicks in, its on!! It not like working the friction zone of the clutch where we ease it out to get the car rolling. When the compressor kicks in, it throws the full load right then and there onto the crank and all the belts. That means that its more than likely that the belt(s) will slip and screw up the lovely added performace from the S/C. And that is one reason why many of the S/C kits remove the A/C as part of the install.
Well my question now is, how do cars that come SC stock from the factory keep their AC units?

At 6'3" 260lbs I'm doing good to FIT in my protege much less anything else.

I have a sense of humor.....just not much more patience left to AC comments.
Wow your a big guy, what possesed you get a small car? Also, I fear for your wife's well being, doesn't she realized you could snap her in half?

I know Mercedes uses an electric clutch on their blower to take it off line. Can't speak to how the others do. Anyone know anything about the Thunderbird S/C, how they did it.

All I know is unless someone can come up with the R&D $$$$$$, its not feasible with our cars.

fyi.. from SuperMattyP..
the supercoupes and GTP's use an eaton blower and the blower belt is tied dircetly to the crank and the blower....the ac has no affect on it.. the aftermarket centrifugal blowers like mine are run on the serpentine belt drive..

There you go!!

*thinks.. protege garage should sponsor my car instead of a bunch of stock cars with no plans. also should sponsor matty if they haven't already.

BUMP!!

Just got report roddimus will be getting his haltech tomrrow (9/3) and will be installing it. Also on sept 11th he is gonna be getting video footage of the dyno and will be testing the kit at 4 psi and 6 psi, for now.

har har har

So if this blower can go up to 15 psi and will get close to 200 whp at 4 psi tuned...think it can surpass the 300 whp some turbos are getting?

Oh it's totally possible. Forged internals, larger fuel pump and injectors, etc would be neccesary of course, and its at our own risk, but I think its definatly possible.
