Unsold 2008 Speed3, what's a fair price?

There's a local dealer with some unsold 2008 Speed3 GTs.

What's a reasonable price for one of the GTs? Bear in mind this car is still new...dealer obviously can't move it.

I think you can get a 2008.5 speed for 1500 below invoice price. I have been quoted that price by multiple dealers in the metro atlanta area. Bargain hard maybe you can get 2000 below invoice price.

Worth a shot, depends on badly they want to get it off the lot. Leftovers they usually try to push because it doesn't really look good to have new 2008s next to new 2010s.

absolutely.

i dont see you getting out of the door with that speed for no less that 22-23 and thats pushing it. these cars hold their value and are getting more and more popular everyday.

in my little area(sanford/lake mary, its a suburb of orlando), with in the last few months there has to be about 10 new Speed owners.

i got a sweet deal on my 09 ms3 sport. i got it out of the door for 22k

The dealer has about 6 or 7 unsold brand new 08 Speed3s. They still have unsold 2009s, and there's a few 2010 (non-Speed) 3s there now.

Website shows a price of 20999 for the sport, 22999 for the GT.

proof? this is just wishful thinking...

to the op....we are in a deflationary period. you have all the power! use it! beat that dealer up and get the car for as little money as possible!

you wont get a gt for 18k. go after the sport but i doubt youll get the sport for that low of a price but its worth a try

Don't want the Sport. Want a GT.

And what sucks is that I probably can't get any of that nice promo financing on unsold 2008s (like 0.9 for 60) since it's a Speed model.

Selling the S2000. Actually probably trading it in. Such a blast to drive and a total-chick magnet, but it has absolutely zero utility.

with the new 3 coming out, and this already being a year old brand new, they are either holding out hoping they find a sucker, or they're gonna take a lowball on it.. give it a shot, what can it hurt? if you don't get the price you want for it, you can always walk away.

Well being that I just kbb'ed a 08 gt with 8k miles and it listed for 22,975-id say they hold their value pretty well

I don't know that you could actually get that for one though... you'd have to find an awfully big sucker.. thats 24 bucks under MSRP NEW. I don't think thats realistic.

Havent seen them run any "promo" deals on any of the Speeds

Does seem a bit far-fetched. That would make the car just a tick over $20K before taxes and fees. Invoice is just under $22K

To the OP: Can't hurt to try it. All they can say is no or make you a counter offer.

Something to ask is if the car is considered a used car already. Here in Canada, any 08 Mazda's (that are still considered new, ie: 15 miles on the odo) that a dealer still has and is trying to sell are now used cars.. That means the warranty has already started on them too but it means there is no freight/PDI charge.

You should be able to get that car for a pretty good price.... just be willing to walk away and they'll call you back.
