Unknown part found after removing console to install Android Auto (2016 Mazda3)

Hi all, just finished installing an Android Auto / Carplay module in my wife's 2016 Mazda 3 BN. I found a part on the car mat that I don't remember seeing when I took the console out to swap the module. Any idea what this is and where it goes? I assume the spring goes into the white part but not sure where to put it. The white part has 388B stamped into it.
