Unichip Installed!!

I'm completely stock... Besides Unichip, and 2nd and 3rd gear the wrx was pretty close then 4th I pulled away... He was really pushing and I was shifting earlier then I usually would. We did a few runs from different starting speeds. We never went from a stop (I'm sure he'd get a good lead on me then) He's a good friend so we race often and he always is able to beat me before the unichip. I have no idea what I could be now but the WRX dyno around 180 whp so I wouldn't be surprised if I was around that, and the reason I pull away is the weight difference. MSP usually dyno's around 140 so if my 180 estimate is right that's about a 40whp difference.

that wrx is heavier due to the awd i believe, and with the unichip you will have a tuned powerband so you should be able to best the rex no problem, especially if there is no launch.

why would you put on a EBC and the unichip? I thought w/ the unichip you dont need a boost controller

You wouldn't... Some people think that the Unichip spikes but it doesn't really... it's designed to run at 12psi at mid range rpms then go to 10psi at higher rpms...

So wait a minute....i had understood that it is not safe to boost the MSP over 9psi when stock, so how can he boost to 12psi stock with the unichip...is he running a risk???I'm interested in the chip, but would like to know if im going to blow my engine running it on a stock MSP.
respect.

becuase the unichip is tuned. you shouldn't run more than 9psi on the stock setup. but if your tuned you can run more.

so the chip would be all you need to run those number in stock form...but what about if you start upgrading like intercoolers, exhaust, ect...is there a way to up the unichips boost or would you need to get a cboost controller.
respect.

the unichip controls timing,a/f and boost. it comes with a built in electronic boost controller.

they all come with the EBC? Is this adjustable... or just stock and 10psi?

i believe the only way to adjust it is if you get it custom tuned at a Unichip tuner. You do have the option for 2 boost settings: a stock one and the 10psi one. you also have two maps, A and B. Both are tuned maps, one of them is more aggressively tuned.

I think with my mods, I could run the aggressive tune daily. I already run about 10psi WOT now with the AFC.... and the AFC is not tuned for the car yet, just stock supermap.

So my question is this....can you run the most aggresive map with a stock MSP???

you may want to PM JDMSAM he has the Unichip and he is one of our local tuners here. I am almost positive he could answer any questions you have about the Unichip in detail. He also has a website where he sells them and other stuff. www.*************.com

u can but i would have a intake/exhaust at the very least. then get some hard pipes.

i would say u would need an exahust at very very least

Question about the EBC as well...
Port 3 = vac?
Port 2 = wastegate?
Port 1 = crankcase vent?

That is what I get out of the instructions.... someone verify this for me.

Instead of t-tapping into the crank vent, can I tap into the hot pipe (turbo -> IC pipe)? Right now my EBC is connected to vac, wastegate, and hot pipe. I have a nipple on my hot pipe already, that is why I ask.

Thanks!

I would hook it up the way that the instructions say, I looked at the instructions and you are correct on how to hook it up. But i dont think that you should connect it to your hot pipe. I think you would have problems while under boost, connecting to the hot pipe.
