unichip and gt28rs

what do u mean by stock setup... there is really no reason to get a gt28rs unless you are alrdy building or have a built engine...

probably a no-no since its not tuned for such a "massive" amount of new air coming in...

it'll work but it'll need some slight adjustment. Also, you'll still hit fuel cut due to the MAF maxing out at certain psi level due to the increased airflow. Then you'll need the extra injector driver module and injectors, at that point I'd ditch the thing and get a Haltech E6X.

well i have fmic (hiboost) ghl off the the turbo into a hiflow cat into a sp2 cat back undrive pulley and a cold air intake relocated maf with the unichip. so i was just wonder if i should tune it but i wasnt to sure how much more power i could make from it. thats why i was think on geting the gt28rs and tune that

the stock turbo will blow your motor easy enough you dont need a bigger one to do that

Hey im new here so I dont know if this is a good spot to post.I wanna get the unichip but i was wondering what can a ms protege run at 11 boost ?

ummm... commas my freind. It'll make your posts easier to read. And yeah, i agree with tekkie... there is no point in upgrading the turbo to a gt28rs if you're still on stock internals.

a blown engine is the only reply you will get to that question (not to be a jerk) but the msp will only safely hold 10 psi with the supporting mods and even then it is russian roulet

Unichip is not intended for setups like that. I'd find a local tuner and see what they can do since you've already got it.

I don't think there is any documentation of this actually being done before however. So to say it would work would be an in theory scenario only. Also, the Unichip can be tuned for larger and/or extra injectors. An auxiliary injector box is not necessary.

And as said before, it doesnt make a lot of sense to upgrade the turbo on the stock engine.

?

well see i wanna make 200 hp atleast how would u advise me to do that without running new internals

Exhaust, downpipe, Front mount intercooler, SIR or CAI, and probably some sort of piggyback; alowing you to up the boost a touch and that should about do it.

max out the MAF and try it.

Try what?

The MAF should be removed anyway when running that kind of setup. Unichip (as most any type of EMS) has previsions for using MAP.

I had no idea that Unichip allowed removal of the MAF. Can you just buy a GM MAP and use that with Unichip? Is anyone on the forums using a MAP sensor with Unichip?

It's not set up out of the box to do that though. This is something I hope to bring up next time I'm over there so we can start running MAP sensors.

ok guys i got a problem i went for tuning today and first run with no tuning i hit 199.8hp and 238tq then the numbers on the hp were drop slowly every run and we couldnt understand it. so the we checking the boost and and in was holding 10 then it would start to drop to 8. so we checked the plugs and they where loose not like that was y but we change to ngk 6 copper head. then we hit cuting out problem. put the old denso ones back in then the boost wouldnt go past 4psi so im like there goes my turbo. so i left it like that. started to drive home same thing 4psi. so the im like lets push this b**** see what she does the boost comes right back to 10psi. so now im confused can anyone tell me whats up.
