the majority of turbo manifolds are unequal length, but let me guess you want that "subaru sound". For that you need 2 really long runners and 2 really short runners.
i dont think you have enough room in the protege engine bay to get the length required to produce that sound. Also the manifold would look so stupid. for refrence here is a stock subaru turbo maniifold. as you can see there is a huge difference in runner length
I would spend the money I really wouldn't mind how it looked as long as it was coated or stainless . I would spend around 550 for that beautiful exhaust note
Lol you are going to spend alot in material for a long runner manifold made out of stainless. Go and ask any shop with half way decent welding skills to build you a manifold it will be 1k easy for a one off tubular stainless manifold
just for reference i talked to toxic fab who make beautiful manifold for the evo platform. He told me for a one off manifold its 1400. Reason being they have to build a jig and put r&d time into it. It's not like they can offset that cost by making more manifolds. thats why one offs will always be more expensive then production manifolds.
Lets talk some real numbers, i would without a doubt pay 1500 for it idc what it looks like as long as the stock turbo will fit and I have to make no major modifications
I'm with you pbarton my cars not a show car so what do I care if te engine bay doesn't look good, I'd pay1,000-1,500 for it, I just don't know where I could get it, and I don't wanna do any major mods either
im going to be making a personal one in about a months' time.. ive already got a jig built and im ordering the sch18 mandrel 316Lss tubing soon.. when i make mine ill take pictures, then if you like, we can talk about making a second from my jig... just have to get the extra materials.. im not promising anything but 2-3 manifolds would be doable in my spare time
