underdrive question..

it will probably be fine, but im sure the quality of the cheaper underdrive pullies alreant up to par with the hight priced ones.

I kind of disagree. I felt signifigant difference in throttle response when I put my UDP on. Mine is an Unothodox Racing, don't know where that lands on your price scale.

I always assume that cheap means cheap, and if you break a tooth on there you could have real problems.

Looks? who the hell is going to see it? I haven't seen mine in over 4 years, yet it's still there.

doesnt change the fact, why do people paint their blocks? u cant see them when the motor is assembled. i never said u could see it but it looks better then stock correct. LOOKS

they are def not for looks. they are made lighter, and lighter is better. this is because they attach to the crank, and will be easier to rotate because they are lighter.

i have the OBX UDP, i noticed a pretty good difference in responce and the way she climbs through the RPM's. IIRC the unorthodox UDP is slightly bigger than the OBX, but both are still smaller and lighter than stock.

You put a lightweight underdriven pulley on your crankshaft for way more than looks. The stock pulley is a brick.

I have the UR UDP and it definitely makes a difference. It allow the engine to rev like crazy! Since are engines do not make power down low like a V6 or V8 it helps to get the revs up. It is definitely lighter than stock, and of course 15% smaller too. It almost completely lowers the AC power drain when you turn it on. It will lower the alternator output to 13.3 though.

This mod really shines more when you have other mods like CAI/VTCS removal/header/mid-pipe/exhaust/tune.

has any one had a obx one on there for a long time, have they held up? or is UR a better brand to go with

Cheers

i've had my obx on since about jan 2009 and havent had a single issue with it since. i had to do a little trial and error with belts to find the correct sized ones and i can give you the part numbers if you have the 2.0L.

yeah i can do that tomorrow if i remember, shoot me a PM and i'll remember better that way lol

the money could be spent towards something that can actually make a bigger difference in revs, a lightened flywheel.
