Whew....where do I start... The drop is about 2inches, doesnt sound like much but it is a BIG diff. I didnt get the heavier shift knob, but I prob. will since it is a little tough to shift, but not all that bad. Removing the console, the ashtray plate, and the shifter mount was easy...5min and a little tough love. However, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE 2PAIRS OF HANDS when your removing the old shifter from the mount. I pulled it off alone, but it took about 30minutes just to get it out..and ALOT of choice words...As well as another 15+minutes to install the new one....Also, study the spring that holds it all in place and get a plan together before you start attempting to install the new shifter....IMHO the best way to go about it is to 1st get the spring lined up where you want it, then install the shifter...the spring will not go on once the shifter is installed, and to get it back out AGAIN is a b****...I'm speaking from experience...reinstalling the mount in the car was easy, reinstallin the console was easy...and the OEM shifter knob fits. However, the shift boot is too big for my taste....look into buying a boot before you do the install so you can do it all at once.
To sum it up--
-Good Directions (needed to be more specific about removal/installation of shifter

-35-45% shorter throws and 2inch drop claimed by TWM is right on the money

-Directions state 30-45minute install...took me about 1 1/2 hours, but it was my 1st time so I'm sure most of you would probably do better..

-Tools needed-3flat head screwdrivers, 1 philips screwdriver, needle nose pliers, some grease, 10mm socket, and a smaller size socket as well(maybe 6-7mm)---the directions show that you need to remove screws to get the console out...this is INCORRECT---you need to remove small BOLTS...so cheap socket set would be fine....

-Product, makes you feel like your driving a european roadster!, Shorter shifts, better feel for the ride, and in my opinion it was priced to match satisfaction....TWM currently offers free shipping...so it comes to $190 for the kit WITHOUT any shift knob. I spoke to Dan @ TWM and explained to him that I didnt want to spend an extra $80+ bucks for a knob I may not need. He told me that if I call up and explain why I didnt purchase the kit w/ the knob--they'd let me buy the knob for the same price as it comes in the kit...instead of paying an extra $20-$30 bucks for purchasing them seperate...so long as its withing about 30-45days......Any questions please let me know, I have pics as well...but lots of people have posted similiar ones already so I didnt want to waste time.....I have the before, after, shifters unistalled side by side, console removed showing the shifter mount & cables, and a few others if anybody wants me to post let me know......Overall I give this a rating of about 7.5-8 out of 10!

Yea the spring placement got me the first time as well..(didnt do the over under). So I had to pop the unit out again. Using small scew drivers and a very light touch I was able to work the shifter out by myself rather easily. Not to say I didnt use any choice words either..lol

I have the twm shifter as well and think it really rounds out the unit.. (adds a little weight to the throw and is adjustable) only thing it gets very very cold in the morinings.. If you live in a cold climate you might want a shifter sock or something..heh

I ordered mine on 1/11 and it was in my hands on 1/19...basically a week. 4 weeks is crazzzzzzy, unless your outside the US. I'm working on uploading the pics....will try later, having problems w/ my digi cam. For now, if you go to TWM website they have the instructions which show pretty good pics...but I'll get them up soon..

PS- My shifter is never cold.....maybe b/c its in Miami? hmm?

i am inside the us, i think it is taking so long because it is for the msp, they are stocked up on the ss for the 3 but maybe not for the msp. i'll write them again
