Well my update is ...pending
Tight clearance was created at cam cap.
Small amount removed from cap.
Likely caps were shuffled in a previous dis-assembly without proper reassembly (thanks)
This was also apparent from the screws also being out of numerical sequence.
Also need 2 more bolts to replace removed snapped ones.
I am growing concerned re: the kasman cam gears and the CPS.
Just read the other thread yesterday
Can someone PLEASE tell me the purpose of the Welch plugs at all.
I have yet to see any Legit and solid info for WTH these are for.
I am sorry..But what doe these plugs have to do with indexing the cams and them coming loose.
It just doesn't make sense to this guy.
as far as i know they are oil plugs to keep oil from spewing out of the cam
aka freeze plugs
the dowl is indexing the cam gear
so the correct stick goes in the right side of the head
I thought we were talking about the dowels here?
the dowels are pins in the end of the cam to maintain it's position
I think there was some confusion about dowel function vs welch plug purpose.
Why are these not used in the OEM cams then..thats what I dont understand.
