Turning Right = Badness

Ok, so I got myself a Medieval passenger side mount (thanks for the WTB idea Fish!)

Any one have any idea how tight the bolt should be between the two halves? Right now that nut is finger tight, but I can loosen it up (which would be bad). Any ideas?

There is the large half that bolts to the frame of the car, and the small half that bolts to the engine itself. There is a through bolt that connects the two parts.

Does that make sense?

And an update....

Pulled the stock mount out in the dark this evening, ripped on both sides of the L-bracket. Managed to singe my arm on the top of the valve cover working on it while it was too hot, but thats my fault.

Turns out I couldnt get my jack underneath the engine, so I just lowered it off the existing mount a few turns at a time, and then undid the mount from the frame of the car.

I put the new mount on, tightened it down to the frame good and tight, tightened the through bolt until the poly just started to pucker, and then I tightened the bolts up on the engine a few turns at a time until all was snug.

Waiting until tomorrow to test drive, but does anyone see anything that might be bad about installing in that sequence?

It was too dark out for pics tonight when I finished up. Ill try to get some in the light of day tomorrow.

OK, I got a few this morning of my busted up mount (yeah, I could have done those last night....) I can get some of the install later today, hopefully with my actual camera instead of the cell.
