I have an '11 Mazda2 Sport that sometimes doesn't make the "tick-tock" noise when I use the turn signal. The green arrow lights and and flashes at the normal speed (and I'm pretty sure the lights outside the car are also flashing as they should), but the audible "tick-tock" sound does not come up. This occurs only about once every 5-10 times I use the turn signal, maybe even less often, but now that I'm aware of it, it bugs me. Anyone else heard of this?

I haven't experienced this, but my advise would be to talk to your dealer. I'm assuming your still under warranty, so whatever is wrong should be covered.

For me, its never louder at any specific moment, and it may be just because I like my music loud... but I NEVER hear the turn signal "tick-tock"... and I love it...

Figured it out!!! I think. From extensive Google searches I found a post about Mazda 3's not making the tick tock noise whenever the seatbelt chime is going.... I guess the tick tock is no longer a physical action creating a sound, it's simply generated via a speaker. So, if the seat belt chime is activated, the blinkers will not make the noise. I never really gave it much thought, but it did seem to mostly happen (that I noticed) soon after starting driving. My original thought was that something needed to "warm up" but it appears it just wasn't doing it during the first 60 seconds or so while the car nagged about seat belt not being fastened. I've really been trying to pay attention and seems to be the case..... Now, I just need to work on actually wearing my damn seat belt to begin with, but that's another issue.....
